Recently, I saw a post titled "First World Problems."It was kind of funny, but it made me think about how many stupid things we complain about or insult others about, so I came up with my own list. Expect more to come. Top 10 First World Mom Problems. 1On the ½ mile drive to the park, the person in front of me paused three seconds before going after the light turned green. 6My neighbor put gnomes in her flowerbed.

A little of this and a little of that. Monday, February 7, 2011. EH (Jack) Byers Jr. standing, third from left). I can only go by what I found, what I've been told and what I remember about Pa. He passed away one day after my 14th birthday and a week shy of his 60th, so I can't ask him. We and our friends the Tolletts. Had this brainstorm one day. To drive down to the Cotton Bowl. In Dallas U.S.A. It was so dark that morning. You couldn't see outside. And most of all those people. But very little heat.

http://lanacliftonsbananas.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
A little of this and a little of that. Friday, March 19, 2010. Fundamental is Not Fun. Heard one day during school:. Kid -"Mom, I think all school work should be fundamental.". Me (eyebrows raised)"What do you think that means? Kid - "It means fun and educational, you know, fundamental! Me (eybrows down but trying not to laugh)"No, that's not what it means. It means basic.". Kid - "No. It's a made-up word. You just put fun and educational together and get fundamental.". Here are some examples:. I wonder ...

A little of this and a little of that. Wednesday, February 24, 2010. Change in My Pocket. An old proverb says, "Change is the only constant." Whether you think change is constantly annoying, constantly exciting or constantly unpredictable, you must agree. We change our clothes, change our minds, change our attitude and sometimes even change our point of view. Sometimes change is not something we choose to do. Sometimes change is something we don't want to do. I finished first grade at Schwegler. And coll...

Lana's Bananas: January 2011
http://lanacliftonsbananas.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
A little of this and a little of that. Wednesday, January 5, 2011. Wow, I haven't blogged since October. So much has happened since then. I haven't had time to write a decent blog, and now there is so much to write about that I'm not sure where to begin. Well that ends well." We have ended one chapter of our lives and begun another. Our new chapter begins the day after Christmas. We packed two vehicles to the ceiling with belongings we had taken to Heber. There are at least 4 within a 15 minute drive....

A little of this and a little of that. Wednesday, January 20, 2010. So, am I the only one who can't watch the Haiti coverage? I have given a donation and prayed for these people, but I can't watch the coverage. There is too much anguish, and I feel helpless. What will my small donation accomplish? Hopefully someone will be helped, but how many thousands won't? Http:/ donate.worldvision.org/OA HTML/xxwv2ibeCCtpItmDspRte.jsp? Http:/ www.redcross.org/. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Lana's Bananas: August 2013
http://lanacliftonsbananas.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
A little of this and a little of that. Thursday, August 22, 2013. We're not THAT homeschool family. 1 Our children are not overachievers. We do not stay in our pajamas all day (usually). We could, I suppose, but I am a great believer in showers, especially for teenage boys, so we shower and get dressed every day. We could stay in our pjs if we wanted to, though, and if someone is sick, they can do that and still get a little work done without infecting a whole school. I’m right, huh. This is another R...

Lana's Bananas: October 2010
http://lanacliftonsbananas.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
A little of this and a little of that. Wednesday, October 6, 2010. Jobs in the Dallas area under the subheading of [ETC], I came across a part-time nanny position. "Sounds interesting," I thought. So, I clicked on it. After reading some expected duties such as light housekeeping and occasional tutoring and afternoon hours, I was still interested, so I read on. My jaw dropped as I read the following (I kept their spelling and grammar). My wife and I have one full time childe. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
