Confessions of a Catholic Mom and Philosopher's Wife. Who is this Lady Philosophy? The Two Reasons that Compelled me to Veil. I started veiling the year I studied for my Master’s in Theology. I was regularly attending the (newly named) Extraordinary Form of the Mass and immersing myself in studying for classes such as Christian Liturgy, Vatican II, and the Tradition and the Development of Doctrine. When studying the documents of Vatican II, I wanted to know why. 1 It is in Scripture:. For a man ought not...

I Swear … | BestDazeOfMyLife

Laquo; Pizza, Pizza! Seven Quick Takes: Blue Ridge. I Swear …. April 30, 2013 by bestdazeofmylife. 8230; A lot. Probably an offensive amount, to be honest. So … if you’re the sensitive sort, cease and desist. Why do I always feel the urge to disclaim myself on this blog? I totally blame my brothers. Why could they be potty mouths, and I couldn’t? Swearing is far less offensive when it’s in a pretty, scripted font! Then I realized: I’d never post if I self-imposed that rule. Also, if you write “gosh...

In Te Speravi: December 2012
http://feminaprovita.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 31, 2012. Year in Review: 2012. So apparently this is a thing, and it seemed like a good idea today. Except that I'm watching Arrested Development with my sister, and am consequently going to be lazy and make it a year in pictures/videos. :D. The Mundelein crowd at the Society for Catholic Liturgy Conference. 5th annual 80s prom best friend's visit! My sister's visit led to two hours watching pandas. No regrets. Easter with the Gilligans! Priesthood ordinations are always such a gift!

http://feminaprovita.blogspot.com/2013/10/what-im-reading-wednesday-1-thursday.html
Thursday, October 10, 2013. What I'm Reading Wednesday, #1 (Thursday just doesn't have that alliteration.). So I've been thinking about this What I'm Reading Wednesday. Keeps doing, and, knowing that I wouldn't actually write anything unless I committed myself by telling her yesterday, guess what I did? So I'm cutting my usual lunchtime tv break short and actually exercising my brain a bit. 1 Dear and Glorious Physician. I felt like the Black Knight. Warning: minute spoilers ahead). NB: Probably not for ...

Confessions of a Catholic Mom and Philosopher's Wife. Who is this Lady Philosophy? Monday, May 5, 2014. Our Hoped for Baby and My Trip to the ER. Last week I shared our very present grief over our unborn baby. Who had passed away inside me. Today I need to write about my experience of the baby passing on Tuesday. An early ultrasound of F. The Philosopher Mom: Oh, blawg: A mourning.
http://philosophermoms.blogspot.com/2013/02/oh-blawg-mourning.html
One truth: that the mind is below truth, not above it, and is bound, not to descant upon it, but to venerate it; that truth and falsehood are set before us for the trial of our hearts." Bl. John Henry Newman. Wednesday, February 6, 2013. Oh, blawg: A mourning. So, the Philosopher Mom has been quiet. And will probably continue in quiet in the months to come. I hope to return to regular writing here one day- it really is rest and recovery time. Perhaps a Lenten discipline? Along with the Lenten reading.
