Experience wildlife...raise twins: March 2014
http://babyforsythe.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Experience wildlife.raise twins. Life with micro-preemie twins. Payton has talked for a month about needing to get "damn shoes" for the dance. After much debate and trying to hard to figure out what she was talking about, we settled on these little silver sparkly shoes. Dancing in the middle of the dance floor eating cookies. Batman hanging ou t with the big boss.stopping for a quick drink. Their friend Megan was there and they were in love dancing with her all night. Spring is in the air. Yep, it's today.

Experience wildlife.raise twins. Life with micro-preemie twins. So Long, Farewell. Due to several reasons (which I won't get into too much now), today was the end of an era. Today, the twins had their last day Children's Respite Care Center. They have gone there for almost 5 years, every day. 5 years. They have in so many ways grown up there. We shared our 1st birthday here. We got loved on here. We practiced standing here. We learned about books here. We started to love art here. In the midst of all the...

http://babyforsythe.blogspot.com/2015/03/already-march.html
Experience wildlife.raise twins. Life with micro-preemie twins. I'm not really sure what happened to February. But it is already March. That means warmer days, longer days (we've survived daylight savings, whew! Here's a quick "what's been up 'round here" kind of post. We met some new puppies at the Humane Society while we were there for a birthday party (how fun is that? We took Parker to meet Payton's doctors and nurses at one of her appointments. Thank goodness Aunt Bo could go help. After 5 years, ha...

Experience wildlife.raise twins. Life with micro-preemie twins. This is the start of the third week Payton has gone in for twice weekly blood draws. She wants to know "do I have to get a poke today? She mostly does ok, but if they draw from her arm instead of just a finger poke it gets a little rough. So, basically at this point, her numbers have stayed the same type of bad since we started this. Her red and white blood cells are in too low. Her platelets, neutrophils. A little bit of normal. After the w...

Experience wildlife.raise twins. Life with micro-preemie twins. Before the snow started falling around here on Saturday, we went to Respite Care for breakfast with the Pancake Man and our friends. Some pancakes and face painting make for a good day. Payton, their buddy Maya, and Parker. Payton and Maya checking out their new "ink". The morning was topped off by a special visit from Elsa and Ana. Nothing is better than meeting the princesses from Frozen. Payton and Maya getting autographs. Payton is doing...

Experience wildlife.raise twins. Life with micro-preemie twins. Tuesday morning she had a follow-up with pulmonology. When the doctor asked if I had any concerns.I couldn't think of any. When Dr. Toni asked how the winter was.I didn't have anything to say. We'd gone all winter without any major illnesses, she's hasn't been to the ER, been on antibiotics or steroids. Payton had a wonderful winter. 4 years and all that history later.she graduated. On love and grief. While so many of us wanted to be at the ...

Experience wildlife.raise twins. Life with micro-preemie twins. 9 days and one treatment done. Last Monday Payton and I checked in to Children's Hospital for what would be a very long 9 days. Monday night was spent getting settled and prepped for everything that was coming Tuesday. The worst part of our night was the 6 attempts it took to get her IV started. This led to her asking every single person for the next 8 days getting asked by her "what are you going to do to me? When she woke up we got a speci...
