We spent our evening finishing up our shopping downtown and having dinner at the same rooftop restaurant as the other night. Then we made a quick nighttime visit to the Temple of Luxor, which is located conveniently in downtown Luxor. Hurghada is tourist heavy, and clearly a beach town, and we’ve been told we can wear whatever we like here; a welcome change (although there is a local law against crossing streets in bathing suits). Blog like an Egyptian. A and K Do Egypt. Cairo – Final days. I write this on June 29, en route to Cairo, driving the coast of the Red Sea and its turquoise waters, not knowing the full extend of the contrast we will soon witness. We left our hotel this morning at 10:30am to avoid any crowds/disruptions, despite our departure time of 2am.
