Anyway the point of this observation is that the as the mom was giving the elderly ladies some pesos she made some sort of funny remark which made all parties laugh. My thought was how wonderful to make the exchange into a transaction that made the common humanity the link rather than a patronizing exchange. Observed on the bus from Izucar de Matamoros. Saturday, November 25, 2006. Orizaba, a river runs through it. However the view of the peak was much better on the dry side of the mountain but once the bus arrived on the rainy side which receives the warm moisture from the gulf, the mountain was covered by clouds. The people in this town are exceptionally friendly, even for Mexicans which is a big statement. Tomorrow I head towards the steamy Veracruz (state not the city) coast and the town of Tlacotalpan. Sunday, December 24, 2006. Sean (and Mel) were here on Lake Catemaco. This is where the movie The Medicine Man was filmed some years ago and where parts of the new movie Apocalypto were filmed.
