Fertile Dormancy | According to Judy
https://accordingtojudy.wordpress.com/2013/06/26/fertile-dormancy
Assorted Thoughts from a Scattered Brain. 8220;Sabbath is different kind of fertility; it honours the wisdom of dormancy. If certain plant species do not lie dormant for winter, they will not bear fruit in spring. A period of rest, within which our roots quietly take in nourishment, is the key to health. Like plants, we too must have periods in which we lie fallow and silently nourish our roots.” Wayne Muller. Larr; Artists and Stable Harmony. Who can go the hard way with us? Jul 8, 2013 at 17:03 pm.

Assorted Thoughts from a Scattered Brain. When I pray, I feel schizophrenic. The voices in my head are many and competing, each shouting to be noticed: Don’t forget the dry cleaning. What shall I have for dinner? Do something with your hair. Sometimes, I just want to stand, like a teacher, on the desk of my forehead and instruct all the voices to sit down and be quiet. Ssshhhh! What’s all the noise about? What would I find in a quieted mind and soul? Soul stretching, like running, requires effort. Wh...

What is fascinating is that this second word can be translated as ‘a narrow place,’ a space that is ultimately constricting” From Chuck DeGrout,. 8220;I’ve been painting pictures of Egypt. Leaving out what it lacked. The future seems so hard. And I want to go back. But the places that used to fit me. Cannot hold the things I’ve learned. Larr; Gold Stitches.

Aim for the Dovetail, but Keep the Pins in Sight | Here's What I Think
https://soozviews.wordpress.com/2013/10/13/aim-for-the-dovetail-but-keep-the-pins-in-sight
Here's What I Think. Aim for the Dovetail, but Keep the Pins in Sight. They were successful and felt joy because they accomplished their goal and the task set before them. If Jesus had simply told them to be harvesters, they likely would’ve never even left town, they would have been so uncertain about what that meant. Or maybe that’s just me, and I’m projecting. Whatever the case, they accomplished their goal because they accomplished the smaller tasks along the way. Everything Awesome and Important.

Here's What I Think. You are currently browsing the monthly archive for October 2013. Note to Self When I Am Doubting. I write this mostly for myself, but I know I’m not the only one who ever doubts God’s love. Ever questions His heart for me. Ever hears nothing but silence from Him and doesn’t know what to do with that. 8220;The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.” (John 20:20). I can relate, because I feel my own. And I imagine that when the resurrected Jesus appeared to His disciples,...

Here's What I Think. I haven’t blogged much lately (obviously, seeing as how my last post was more than a year ago). Today I was thinking that if I wrote about insights/thoughts I get as I read the Bible, it would help me be more accountable to be in the Word and to write more. Thought no. 1:. As I was pondering the ‘why am I here? Everything Awesome and Important. Follow me on Twitter. Giving Honesty a Try. Comments feed for this article. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. My Two Political Cents | Here's What I Think
https://soozviews.wordpress.com/2009/08/13/my-two-political-cents
Here's What I Think. My Two Political Cents. I don’t like politics and try to stay as far away from it as I can, usually. But all the health care hubbub that’s going on now, the economic uncertainties we still face, all the strained race relations in our country and the world, plus some of the international situations that have occurred in the past few months, have got me thinking. How much outcry does there have to be? Everything Awesome and Important. Follow me on Twitter. Giving Honesty a Try. You are...

Shifting My Gaze | Here's What I Think
https://soozviews.wordpress.com/2011/04/20/shifting-my-gaze
Here's What I Think. A couple of weeks ago, my pastor was sharing about Jesus being in the Garden at Gethsemane. Jackie’s message that Sunday was about the Lord’s Prayer, and he was pointing out parallels between that prayer and the one Jesus prayed in the garden the night before His arrest and crucifixion. It was insightful, but something else caught my attention about Jesus’ prayer that last night. Just before Jesus died, darkness came over the whole land (Mark 15:33). Not only did the sun disappea...
Rest for the Weary | Here's What I Think
https://soozviews.wordpress.com/2013/09/17/rest-for-the-weary
Here's What I Think. Rest for the Weary. Toe the line. Walk the talk. Stay on the straight and narrow. There’s a thin line between love and hate. If you ever struggle with this, like I do, take heart in the fact that God doesn’t expect us to always get it right. He knows we can’t. And rest in the truth of His unfailing, unconditional love. As A.W. Tozer wrote, “If nothing in us can win Thy love, nothing in the universe can prevent Thee from loving us.”. Everything Awesome and Important. Confessions and c...

Cain and the Prodigal Son’s Older Brother | Here's What I Think
https://soozviews.wordpress.com/2010/08/31/cain-and-the-prodigal-sons-older-brother
Here's What I Think. Cain and the Prodigal Son’s Older Brother. By Timothy Keller, pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan, and I loved it. Anytime that I’ve read or heard anything about the parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15, the focus has always been on the younger son, who demands his inheritance from his father, squanders it on wild living, and then, when he hits bottom, has to swallow his pride and go back home. 8221; “The Lord said, ‘What have you done? I just love it that God kept ...

According to Joshua | Just another day in the life
Just another day in the life. Judgement – “All eyes are on you.”. March 8, 2013. I’m in computer class right now, and I’ve got 5 minutes to write this post… I think this calls for a countdown: 3…2…1… GO! And you know for a fact that everyone in that room is judging you. And face it, you judge people sometimes too. In conclusion, remember this: Don’t judge a book by it’s cover. The last page is where the verdict is found. Thanks for reading –. Life's Lessons, According to Joyce
Sunday, October 5, 2014. The Gifts of Receiving. To receive graciously is a gift to the giver. Compliments and praise, when accepted with thanks, say to the giver, I appreciate your acknowledgement of me. Acts of kindness, received with appreciation, allow the giver to feel good about himself. Think about how you feel when you invite someone to go ahead of you in a grocery store lineup, and that person is truly appreciative. And how have you felt when someone turned down a gift you offered? An attitude o...

Walt Disney Is God. 8220;Ostensibly a book about God, Christ, and the New Testament, THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JUDAS: A HANDBOOK ON LIFE is not the typical examination of such topics, and as such will be sure to provoke strong feelings regardless of where one’s beliefs lie.”. Random musings of a cluttered mind. Tuesday, January 27, 2015. Picture It: Hawaii, 1977. It's funny how you never know where things will lead. Let's ignore how, two decades later, my parents took my best friend and me to Hawaii when we graduated high school, shall we? Wore off and real life returned. Later the following year, Tres had a daughter, and a few weeks later, so did my mom. That's me on the left. Seriously. How cute were we? See those red strings? Someone tied balloons around us. She did just t...
