Rose Tinted Glasses: A very wet day!
http://8yrs.blogspot.com/2011/06/very-wet-day.html
Sunday, 12 June 2011. A very wet day! Was grateful for the waterproof coat George bought me last week, couldn't believe how wet and windy it was. What happened to all our lovely weather? The smaller tomatoes had taken a bit of a battering as when I planted them out they weren't tall enough to be tied to the canes. But they were soon tied up and no damage done. After last week's early try of a turnip was keen to have some more this week and these two were ready for pulling. I fed the tops to the chickens.

Tuesday, 26 August 2008. Am hoping to get together some friends for a fun night at the Guildhall on 21 November. And at the weekend I found the perfect shoes for an Abba/70's night. Monday, 27 June 2011. Decided to let the girls have a bit of a run in the garden - but they rather took advantage. Even stealing raspberries from the trug. A lovely harvest this week - turnips, beetroot, baby carrots, spring onions, mint, raspberries. And on the side of the trug here - one solitary mangetout. Boo has been picking and eating them as soon as they appear. The runner beans are growing - can't be too many weeks before they are ready now. And this sunflower is looking lovely. And spinach has f...

Sunday, 26 October 2008. Went well. The food was good. Lots of ice cream and sweets were consumed. And there was a Dalek cake too. Everyone enjoyed the karting - Chas is hoping to grow 2cm by December so she take 2 friends on the adult track and Boo has already decided she'd like the same party next year. It's sad when shiny cutlery straight from the dishwasher makes you happy x. To which she replied ". Now that really is sad - sounds like you need a night out and i need a better dishwasher. Rose Tinted Glasses: Sunday 19 June
http://8yrs.blogspot.com/2011/06/sunday-19-june.html
Monday, 27 June 2011. Am a little behind with posting my weekly pics so two sets in one. Everything seems to be flowering and fruiting. Am finding it a bit hard to keep on top of everything and there are lots of weeds. First tiny runner beans are appearing. And spinach has finally put in an appearance - not sure why it came up so much later than everything else. Well, apart from the parsnips that is, and they didn't come up at all. Carrots are looking good but getting hidden by the beetroot.

Monday, 2 May 2011. First signs of life! Just 4 days after sowing the first seedlings appear - just as well as I'm not a very patient person. These are turnips (quite a lot of turnips! But what else would you expect a West Country girl to grow? After a lot of hard work buying and transporting garden soil, manure and compost the raised beds were finally ready for the exciting stuff of planting seeds. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
