A Few of My Favourite Things. The smoky hot flavor of this chili is credited by the addition of chipotle chili powder. A chipotle chili is a very hot dried, smoked jalapeno. Its traditional heated flavor is used to spice up Southwestern and Mexican dishes. They are sold dried, pickled or canned in a vinegary sauce called adobo. Generally they are added to stews and sauces while the pickled variety are consumed as an appetizer. SERVES 12 , 1 big potful. 2 lbs ground beef. 2 (28 ounce) cans crushed tomatoes.
