Friday, August 21, 2009. My Life Decoded by Craig J. Venter. If you want a book that will blow your mind while spelling out what exactly is "biotechnology" and how it all came into being than this is the book for you. Venter is a controversial figure indeed, as is anyone who has huge ambitions and actually carries them out. I think this youtube video does a pretty good job of capturing some of what you can expect to read. Monday, August 10, 2009. Model Behavior by Jay McInerney. When the novel ended, I f...

Monday, June 22, 2009. Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki. Rich Dad Poor Dad is a book that conveys several key lessons which can be summarized as follows:. Save First, Spend Later. Build Assets (Things which make you money like stocks, businesses, rent, interest etc.). Limit Liabilities (Things which take money out of your pocket like your car, house, pets etc.). Most trained professionals, or intellectuals, are one skill away from creating a lot of wealth, and that skill is sales. Rich dad poor dad.

Monday, January 11, 2010. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. The Book Thief is a masterfully written novel with beautiful/childlike descriptions and similes everywhere. It will want to make you be a child again and to appreciate the beauty of everything around you. It is a heartfelt story about death, a little girl, and the power of words. I strongly recommend it. Monday, January 4, 2010. Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. Never Let Me Go is a well written novel by Kazuo Ishiguro who leads the reader to conclusions with the minimum of detail and seems to have a cap on all the minutia of human interaction. Paul's Media Review: Sweet Mandarin by Helen Tse
http://pauls-media-review.blogspot.com/2010/01/sweet-mandarin-by-helen-tse.html
Thursday, January 14, 2010. Sweet Mandarin by Helen Tse. I recommend this book for people who want to have a peek behind the Chinese restaurant owners world, and how their values are transferred down the generations. It is also a book which connects England and Hong Kong and contains some history of both places. I enjoyed that aspect after my recent trip to Hong Kong, the city of business, without a doubt. Saturday, December 19, 2009. The Disapearance of Childhood by Neil Postman. In the disapearance of childhood Neil Postman makes the argument that the differences between adults and children are disappearing due to the following factors:. Children wearing adult clothing, adults wearing children's clothing, like jeans, sneakers etc. As more information is coming from t.v., games, and the radio, school is losing its importance as the "fountain head" of intellectual engagement. Math Lesson A Day: Multiplying decimals
http://mathproofaday.blogspot.com/2009/04/multiplying-decimals.html
Math Lesson A Day. A Math or Statistics Lesson Each Day.to keep me posted on all those things I shouldn't forget. Sunday, April 19, 2009. 1 Ignore the decimal point. 2 Add the number of digits to the right of the point of the numbers you are multiplying. 3 Starting from the right of the answer, place that number of digits before the decimal point (add zeros if you have to). 1 Ignore digits so 2*4 = 8. 2 Count numbers 1 and 1, so 2 total. 3 Count over two from right of answer so 0.08. 003 * 0.004.
