A Gardening Year

The adventures and misadventures of an heirloom gardener. Monday, September 01, 2008. An Ending and A Beginning. I can’t believe that it is September already. The entire summer has gone by and I haven’t written a thing. At least not here. I haven’t done much gardening either but that’s another topic. I have, though, been practicing with my new camera. In the end, I decided on a fresh start. I’ve created a new blog, A Photographer’s Garden. That incorporates more of my photography and allows me to go off-...

The adventures and misadventures of an heirloom gardener. Wednesday, August 30, 2006. Straw Hats at NYBG. This seems to be my month for field trips. A Gardening Year: Peony Envy

http://agardeningyear.blogspot.com/2008/06/peony-envy.html

The adventures and misadventures of an heirloom gardener. Tuesday, June 10, 2008. Peonies are everywhere. Blooming in gardens. Pictured on blogs. Everywhere except my yard. I started out last fall with six peonies. Three singles that I had ordered and planted in the border along the Ugly Green Fence. Two survived the winter. Neither is showing any inclination to bloom this year. Because they’re new and still small, I’m giving them a pass this year. The buds on the other peony were quite promising:. View ...

The adventures and misadventures of an heirloom gardener. Thursday, June 12, 2008. The Weirdness Chronicles 2008 - Chapter 4. It’s a well-known fact that I love iris. Like the iris that bloomed in full shade. Posted by OldRoses @ 1:29 PM. That looks like an iris ensata. Http:/ images.google.com/images? I am glad...

Sunday, October 07, 2007. I was looking out the window this morning and saw this pretty rose, so I grabbed the camera and took a walk around the yard.
