Ice 'n' Easy: May 2009
http://iceneasy.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 12, 2009. It's been rather a busy time the last few weeks - hopefully things will settle down and I can start posting a little more regularly again. I didn't have a lesson two weeks ago anyway, as my poor coach had some nasty tummy bug on her return from the USA, so only last weeks lesson to report! This especially applies to the Novice Foxtrot - such a simple dance, but so hard to get right, if you know what I mean! All very exciting :) This is the progress so far - he is rather cute I thin...

Ice 'n' Easy: September 2008
http://iceneasy.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 25, 2008. Spinning direction . . . inconclusive. Lots of spinning in both directions now every time I skate, so we can work it out. At the moment it does feel very odd to spin "leftie" but that's probably because I've never gone that way before on skates! My lessons have now been lengthened, so we can fit even more stuff in. Level 2 mohawk exercise:. After the Terror(mo)hawks, she asked if I was going to write nasty things about her on my blog. Never :). Backward Cross in fronts:.

Ice 'n' Easy: October 2008
http://iceneasy.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 28, 2008. Time to go to the physio! I've had a few good skates since my last post - everything going fairly peachily. Haven't tried twizzles yet - but not deliberate, I just keep forgetting to try them on my new blades! I have a dilemma now though. Do I continue going to synchro for the next x number of weeks, not being able to do anything bar pottering through the steps on my own in the corner, or do I use that time for another solo session? Posted by A Spaniels Tail. I was happy to rip...

Ice 'n' Easy: June 2008
http://iceneasy.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 25, 2008. 1) Look at the list and bold those you have read. 2) Italicise those you intend to read (as in the book is bought and sitting on my shelf). 3) Underline the books you LOVE. 4) Strike out the ones you thought SUCKED. 1 Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen. 2 The Lord of the Rings - JRR Tolkien. 3 Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte. 4 Harry Potter series - JK Rowling. 5 To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee. 7 Wuthering Heights - Emily Bronte. 8 Nineteen Eighty Four - George Orwell. 36 The Li...

Ice 'n' Easy: March 2009
http://iceneasy.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 19, 2009. Didn't realise I hadn't blogged for so long - whoops! That's what comes of getting funky new gadgets like an iPhone - completely distracted by it! Level 2's are going quite nicely too - backward edges are still not strong enough, but I am doing more like 10 up the long axis, rather than 16, which is an improvement! And even the dreaded backward cross-rolls are happening and beginning to get a little bigger and a little faster. I don't hate them quite so much now! Otherwise, just...

Ice 'n' Easy: April 2009
http://iceneasy.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 16, 2009. C'mon Amanda - keep up! I got told off the other day by my uncle for not updating in so long. Sorry Uncle Pete - I'm fine, its just been a busy few weeks :). Skating is going on the whole well. I seem to have spent all my time recently either at the rink or at work so can only apologise for not updating! In my lessons we have been focussing on three main things:. Level 2 Field Moves:. Level 1 Compulsory Dances:. Keeping up with the music is another matter - the first 30 seconds ...

Ice 'n' Easy: December 2008
http://iceneasy.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 30, 2008. Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree, I'm Stiffer than a Christmas Tree . . . Hope you had a nice Christmas and sorry I haven't updated for a few weeks! I have had a lesson since the last time - in summary, it was good, we mostly did compulsories and apparently I can give it attitude on the tango after all. And previous to that, various panto's taking over the rinks . . . Anyway, back on a healthy diet again as of today, so hopefully my mind and body will catch up soon :) Spin...

Ice 'n' Easy: November 2008
http://iceneasy.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 26, 2008. Had a looooooong session with my coach today - in fact, she spent the entire hour and a half patch with me. Apart from five minutes when I just HAD to rest my increasingly deforming right food. I warn you - I might post a picture one day, and it ain't pretty! I have been rather sluggish this week overall - having a busy time at work and things on my mind, but it wasn't too bad. Started with some exercises:. Worked on getting the "sweep" through smoother. I've really, serious...
