Crow’s Eye Productions. Have just completed a short film for the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, showing the layers of 18th century dress. Eighteenth century maid dressing her mistress with Kate Loven and Amy Beven. Crow’s Eye Productions. Have just completed a film about the fallen on a Lincolnshire war memorial, ‘Tell Them of Us’. To mark the anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War last year. Pauline Loven designed, sourced original items and made the costume – except for the knitting!

We became aware of just how much women supplemented the basic military uniform by knitting for the men on the front line. King’s Liverpool Regiment, 55th Division, at Wailly, France. IMW. All but one in this post are of the Azure-Winged Magpie as it is very common in the Algarve. It is a beautiful bird, although our own Eurasian Magpie does also look very beautiful in sunlight. In England we have a nursery rhyme about them;. Three for a girl. Four for a boy. Seven for a secret never to be told. Eight for a wish.
