Kayak Canoe Alabama: September 2004
http://kayakadams.blogspot.com/2004_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 30, 2004. Apalachee River to Causeway XIX. Thursday, September 30, 2004 brint.adams@us.army.mil. My plan for this workout was to paddle at about 85-90% effort. I wanted to back off just a little bit to wind down preparation for the race next weekend. I arrived at the old Riverdoc's parking lot and put in around 5:30 PM. The temperature was still a hot 90 degrees with a little breeze out of the north and the tide still rising. Posted by brint @ 8:52 PM. Tuesday, September 28, 2004.

Kayak Canoe Alabama: November 2004
http://kayakadams.blogspot.com/2004_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 29, 2004. Sunday, November 28, 2004 brint.adams@us.army.mil. On our way back out, we scared up a medium sized gator and were enthralled watching the red-winged blackbirds diving down to a screeching halt to find a place to rest for the night. The sunset was gorgeous at 5:00, as we turned back east for our return to the Hwy. 225 bridge and Buzbee's parking lot. Posted by brint @ 9:39 PM. Tuesday, November 23, 2004. Sunday, January 30, 2005. Apalachee River to Causeway 2005 V. Sunday, January 30, 2005 brint.adams@us.army.mil. After a short break, I turned and used the following current and waves coming in partially from the rear left side and tried to make up some time. I was able to cut the time down to 18:00 for the last leg and made the finish in a total of 53:01. It felt great to finally be back in a boat, after the week out of town and off the water. Kayak Canoe Alabama: August 2004
http://kayakadams.blogspot.com/2004_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 31, 2004. Tuesday, August 31, 2004 brint.adams@us.army.mil. The trip back was just slightly slower, as I paddled up against the falling tide. I made it back to the pier and boat ramp in 41:26, setting a new benchmark to shoot for in the new kayak for future paddles. I doubt the two fishermen on the pier gave a hoot what I did, as they sat on their buckets, filling up with the bass they caught. Posted by brint @ 9:31 PM. Sunday, August 29, 2004. This morning was excellent for paddling with a temp of around 80 degrees with fairly low humidity, clear skies and a 7 mph easterly breeze. I arrived and put in at Riverdoc's at 8:00 AM with a high water level and tide still rising. No sign of my gator buddy again. Posted by brint @ 2:12 PM.
