Peachy Teaching: Writing Goals
http://www.peachy-teaching.com/2014/04/writing-goals.html
Tales and tips from the classroom. Tuesday, April 15, 2014. I've been using a great chart with my students that is really helping us to improve our writing. I borrowed this great idea from Karen Jones over at her blog. My kids love seeing their names posted and moved around, and I love that it gives them specific focus goals. Of course we need to do all of these things to be awesome first grade writers, but having specific look-fors on each project is really helpful for honing skills. Fun in First Grade.

Peachy Teaching: New Adventures
http://www.peachy-teaching.com/2014/05/new-adventures.html
Tales and tips from the classroom. Thursday, May 22, 2014. The school year is over in just a couple more days! Question: What do I have planned for the summer? I'm moving," is something that I've said at the beginning of summer plenty of times before. Like, "I'm moving to a new classroom on the 2nd floor," or "I'm moving to a new apartment a few blocks away." But things are a little different this summer. I've visited Seattle several times over the past few months and I love, love, LOVE it! I'm excited t...

Peachy Teaching: Math Notes
http://www.peachy-teaching.com/2014/03/math-notes.html
Tales and tips from the classroom. Thursday, March 27, 2014. We have been problem solving up a storm lately. We encourage students to use math notes when analyzing and solving problems. It breaks down the process, encourages analytical thinking, and prompts them to solve the problem in multiple ways. I came up with this 1st grade friendly version that we've found really useful…. You can grab this math notes recording sheet over at my TPT. Posted by Brittany Rae Beaumont. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
