This poem came unsolicited or expected, to me today. Perhaps Zennor has granted me the muse which had forsaken me. In that whiplash wind. Balanced on a wall. Of piled Cornish granite. Edging the rough path. Sitting, one leg bent casually. A grin as wide as the horizon. Hands put together as if. Eyes narrowed against sunlight,. I still recog...

Ann and Jane's Zennor Blog. To lose the boundaries of self …. June 21, 2009 at 6:20 pm · Filed under Uncategorized. To lose the boundaries of self,. To know the mystery. Is this what journeys, and holidays, are all about? Brian Keenan writes in. Four Quarters of Light, ‘. We go to places for our own reasons even if we only half understand those reasons’. Perhaps the value lies in the fact there ARE some things reason cannot satisfactorily explain! Where ignorance is bliss, ‘tis folly…. 8216;Well’, ...

Ann and Jane's Zennor Blog. July 16, 2009 at 7:54 pm · Filed under Uncategorized. Ann and I intend to be off to Zennor tomorrow at 8.30am; well, that’s the plan. If this lashing rain continues, I expect we will make for the National Trust Industrial Heritage Discovery Centre at Redruth. Here, two great beam engines sit preserved in their towering engine houses. One can be seen in action, powered by electricity, the great beam rising and falling. So I must now think about the picnic and packing my rainwear.

Ann and Jane's Zennor Blog. July 4, 2009 at 3:45 pm · Filed under Uncategorized. Extract from a letter written by Lawrence to JM Murray and Katherine Mansfield. Although from the text I can see no link with the Cornish countryside. Plan to take it on holiday. So it is no wonder Ann and I are staying at The Tinner’s Arms. Whenever we go to a place that is not our home – a spot on a map. Cannot be the full measure of it. The cartographer’s blueprint. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

https://annandjane.wordpress.com/2009/06/29/maps

Ann and Jane's Zennor Blog. June 29, 2009 at 11:29 am · Filed under Uncategorized. I love maps. I take from the shelf our holiday OS map Sheet 203 showing The Lizard, Land’s End and the Isles of Scilly. And there is Zennor and Zennor Head on the North Cornwall Coastal Path, six miles south of St Ives; above is the high Iron Age settlement, Chysauster. As A. wrote (. It contains some, but not all, of the places we might but might not go to’. True! OS maps are pure joy! The wow factor: that sudden twist of...

My musings on open science. 8220;Foster child of silence and slow time”. April 16, 2011. And then, of course, building in space for reflection I quite surprised myself a few days ago when that popped out of my brain during a discussion with participants in the Science Communication Masterclass. About how we went about planning events. I haven’t yet reached complete pith; I rather tend to waffle and persiflage, although I have written one or two paragraphs I think are pretty good. Silence is equally vital...

Monday, July 26, 2010. Jeremy drove the boat and did an awesome job, while I sat back and enjoyed a few beers. :) We found a cove and parked the boat. We all swam in the lake for a few hours. As you can see from the pictures we had so much fun! Later that day, my mom's friend Lindsay came over to my parents house and took some pictures of Kailey, Jeremy, and I. She is a wonderful photographer. Here is a sneak peek of the pictures. This weekend was so much fun and I treasure every moment with my family&#4...

Ann and Jeremy: For the World to See

Monday, September 29, 2008. So we finally made it to Cedar Point! After talking about it all summer one of our friends came up with some $22 admission coupons that worked out great. . Tommy, Jeremy, and Jeremy waiting to go inside. Our first ride that we went on is my all time favorite. the Raptor.  Jess was getting a little nervous but we all had a great time once we got up the first hill. The pictures they take while you are on the ride made for a good laugh, too. Thursday, September 18, 2008. Iam stil...
