Armidale loves touch football. Played at the centrally located Rologas Fields with 6 full sized fields. The Armidale Touch Association has 380 juniors and 570 seniors playing in its summer comp. Armidale could easily host State or National Junior or Senior titles. The volunteers are noticeable each day touch is held with officials and referees abundant in the sport. Armidale boasts an International 50m, 8 lane swimming pool as well a warm up pool. Facilities include: learn to swim pool and toddler pool, canteen, change rooms, toilets, function room, BBQ area and large grandstand. Armidale also has two indoor 25m swimming pools located at SportUNE and The Armidale School. 50 volunteers and 200 members. All Armidale pools offer free parking and are minutes from the CBD. Armidale District Netball Association is one of the best run and organized associations in Northern NSW. ADNA has 10 hard and 6 grass courts 442 juniors and 174 senior players that play in the town competition. Plus a further 11 courts at schools (indoor and outdoor). UNE has a competition on Saturday mornings for the colleges. Armidale hosted the NSW Academy Games and the Northern University Games. Armidale recently hosted the Northern University Games. New England Hockey Association is based at Sport UNE and have two hockey turfs, one sand based field and one sand/water based field. 540 juniors and 700 senior players. Run twilight and indoor hockey competitions each year. Former Hockeyroo captain Nikki Hudson notices the difference after being in Armidale - when she goes back to sea level, training and playing is so much easier. We have state-of-the-art hockey facilities in Armidale and experience in hosting major events.
