Yessnow is a rare delight in our area. The last time that it snowed was January 2011. This is the view from my window as I awakened. My camera isn't the greatest, and I couldn't fully capture what I saw, but you get the idea. ;-). What a beauty to behold! Seeing this immediately made me want to create art! I feel like drawing or carving today. Hmmmm.which will it be? Before starting one of the projects, I wasn't going to miss a photo moment. Jacqueline F. Graham. Links to this post. Snow in the South.

Performing Italian Operas - Se tu m'ami. And Tu Lo Sai. There stands the possibility that I have worked far too many years putting "plan B" above pursuing my passion. Music, and the use of it as a tool to teach and nurture children, has long been apart of my love and very being. In my fear of being the starving artist, I mistakenly made it a side kick. Occupation instead of fully. I am back into performing and teaching! The things you are passionate about are not random. They are your calling. Taught by ...

Georgia Master Naturalist Program. Class located at Phinizy Center for Water Sciences. Swamp and Nature Park. I have eagerly awaited this program, and I'm happy to say it has finally begun! We met a day before class for meet and greet! We took a quick break to search for small objects -such as leaves and twigs- located near the education classroom on campus. To encourage nature journaling, we were asked to draw the items that we collected. Delicious refreshments were served during the break. We wrote poe...

I decided to try my hand at gardening. My mom always seemed to have a green thumb, but for many years, I felt that the talent was not handed down to me. Anytime I decided to purchase plants, I could almost swear I heard them screaming out to others, "Please save us! Thankfully, things are coming along fine. I have tomatoes, bell peppers, jalapeno peppers, pepperoncini, squash, various herbs, and cucumbers. I'm so tickled! Nonetheless, but it's a start. The veggies taste delicious in my salads. I live in ...

Bird Watching at Phinizy. Notes from my nature journal. What an adventurous weekend! I went birding with the August-Aiken Audubon Society. The field trip coordinators are Lois Stacey and Anne Walters. Talk about a group that is highly knowledgeable about birds and nature in general! Though, I wasn't able to get a photo of all of the members that were on the field trip (including myself), I was able to capture a few photos of some of them. (To learn about this amazing group, please visit their website.
