Coming soon: Veils, Halos and Shackles – Reverse Perspective
https://luciesmoker.wordpress.com/2015/07/11/coming-soon-veils-halos-and-shackles
Veils, Halos and Shackles. While I don’t often publish my poetry, I’m honored to be a tiny part of this project. My contribution, “In a Shard of the Bedroom Mirror,” came out of feelings from an abusive relationship that came streaming out after my brain surgery. Words kill. But words can also heal. The December 2012 rape and murder of Jyoti Singh Pandey in Delhi moved thousands of people to pour into the streets in protest. I recommend the anthology to everyone! Mark your calendar for next spring. Notif...

Climbing up the Gloss Mountains, I considered the plight of the Cherokee who had been allocated this Oklahoma land in 1835 and began losing it to Anglos within a generation. How did that feel? How did they actually stand up and face their children by culture, the next seven generations? Back in 1893, thousands of settlers lined up for a chance to race against others … Continue reading What Resonates. October 16, 2016. October 26, 2016.

Embracing the Story – Reverse Perspective
https://luciesmoker.wordpress.com/2015/07/07/embracing-the-story
And Retribution has been inactive for a while now. First, I have to say that Buzz Books was very good to me. They empowered me to get out there and share my book. With their help and a ton of hard work,. Achieved some success. Now they’re reverting my rights and it will go out of print. Some of the other Buzz authors are self-publishing their books rather than leaving them out of print. Several writer friends had advised me to do that, others advised waiting a while. I decided to wait. If you see it in r...

Blue Duende – Reverse Perspective
https://luciesmoker.wordpress.com/2015/04/24/blue-duende
Photo above by Anastasia Sofia Jones at Gallivant Girl.com. Y’all have been so supportive that to thank you I’m sharing a scene from the middle of PARADOX. You don’t have to know much about the story to “get” this scene: Adele is an art crimes investigator. Mark is a dark ops agent assisting her in Morocco. Eannatum is a 12-inch, stolen Mesopotamian sculpture. And. Is a word that doesn’t translate from Spanish. Lucie. The streets smelled of freshly baked bread, mint tea and cannibis. I knew this myst...

Trust Me, Your Story is Relevant – Reverse Perspective
https://luciesmoker.wordpress.com/2015/08/02/trust-me-your-story-is-relevant
Trust Me, Your Story is Relevant. As I finish preparing Paradox for beta readers, a new book has grabbed hold of my psyche. It’s one that’s been rattling around in my head for quite a while now. Unrelated to the Adele Proust mysteries, it’s partially based in a place, the Shetland Islands, partly in an experience I had there, and partly in legend. It’s called Trust Me. Here’s a link to the memoir that inspired it:. 8220;In The Company of Forever” at OutsideIn Literary and Travel Magazine. August 2, 2015.
