Our Little Corner of the World

Wednesday, November 8, 2017. Out with Friends and Family. Despite how frenetic life has been November started off with a bit of fun. I was grateful for friends who set aside some time to spend time together and for Scott and friends who set aside time to celebrate my birthday with me. A lot of poor quality phone photos to capture some lovely times. A nice morning in Kew gardens with a couple of lovely friends. A rare treat to escape work and life! Birthday flowers from a lovely friend. Some phone snaps o...

Our Little Corner of the World: June 2014

http://ashtonarchive.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Paris with Chad and Brooke. What's as awesome as playing tour guide in London? Playing tour guide in Paris! Entrusting the kids to our very capable babysitter the four of us set off on a three-day tour of Paris. It was my 9th visit to the city, and probably the best weather I've ever experienced. We hit most the big sights and wandered around some of our favourite neighbourhoods. It was really fun to be there together with Chad and Brooke. Up the Tour Eiffel. We hit the ground r...

Our Little Corner of the World: December 2013

http://ashtonarchive.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html

Sunday, December 15, 2013. With a full year of teenage parenting under our belts, this teenage gig all feels very legit. To celebrate Dallin again had a group of friends over for a pizza party followed by a trip to the cinema for a movie night out with friends. I didn't get any photos of this night, sadly, but we did get some photos of our family celebrations the next day. Breakfast with the birthday boy. Birthday cake fit for a superstar cross country runner! Saturday, December 14, 2013. 2009 Turkey, Ve...

Our Little Corner of the World: April 2014

http://ashtonarchive.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, April 30, 2014. Rain, we will not be defeated! Our first soggy stroll through Kotor. Rain and freezing waters didn't stop this lot! Cruise ships have discovered Kotor. Smaller, less touristy cousin to Kotor, Perast. Just lovely! A rewarding hike up all 1350 steps along the fortified mountainside walls high above Kotor . . . Stunning views of Kotor and beyond . . . Back on stable ground in old town Kotor. Stunning evening views from our deck overlooking Kotor opposite. Saturday, April 26, 2014.

Our Little Corner of the World: September 2014

http://ashtonarchive.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Friday, September 26, 2014. Scott and I had the chance to escape together for a long weekend at the end of the summer. We have some pretty fabulous friends that we swap childcare with, and our kids love spending time with their friends. So it's really a win win win for all! A gorgeous street in the heart of old town, with our hotel in flags down on the right. Old town Riga is a very social, colourful place. The spire of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. The Rigan equivalent of the BT tower. Riga is a very liv...

Thursday, October 30, 2014. Romania Part II: Transylvania. I'm guessing that it'll just take scrolling down a couple frames to understand "why Romania? All those head-scratching, strange-faced looks we got upon identifying our half term break destination? Transylvania, AKA Dracula country, was the primary destination for this trip. And what better time to visit Dracula's stomping grounds than just before Halloween! En route to Transylvania our first stop in gorgeous Sinaia . . . Pelisor Palace in Sinaia.

Organized Chaos: The "Toothbrush " Incident...

http://wadeanderin.blogspot.com/2011/07/toothbrush-incident.html

Wednesday, July 27, 2011. The "Toothbrush " Incident. This kid is going to do me in! Not too long after we were done with the broken arm, Luke landed himself in the ER again, but this time he really hit it out of the park! This all happened back in May - Tues the 17 th. So I finished getting ready and we headed out the door to run some errands. Before too long however, I could tell something was off. Luke was still upset, wouldn't drink, and now was drooling and looked like this:. The wound didn't look b...

First Day of Summer 2015 |

https://eightyfingersandeightytoes.wordpress.com/2015/06/16/first-day-of-summer-2015

First Day of Summer 2015. June 16, 2015 in Uncategorized. Welcome back to our blog! Our entire family will take turns. Writing here to chronicle our summer vacation! On the first day of summer we headed over to Calafia beach to do some boogie boarding. To stop at costco to get 4 new boogie boards and lunch. Brecken tested out the boogie board right away. There were little tiny crabs all over the beach! They were all washed up on the shore. Most were dead. We all dug crab graves and buried about 400 crabs.

Monroeplanet: May 2012

http://monroeplanet.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

Thursday, May 24, 2012. Chad wasn't able to be there when the line was taken out, it was just Dr. Hermann, the nurse and me. Dr. Hermann checked Ashlyn and gave the go ahead to take the line out. The nurse pulled it out a little and then waited to make sure everything looked good. We aren't sure why these things have happened to Ashlyn, but we are grateful for the wonderful doctors and nurses that attend to Ashlyn everyday. We are also grateful for all the prayers and miracles we have received! She was a...

Monroeplanet: Sledding

http://monroeplanet.blogspot.com/2014/12/sledding.html

Monday, December 29, 2014. Today was our last day with our cousins. They had to get back home fro work, so we tried to get in as much fun as possible! To start off the day we went to Cracker-barrel for breakfast. Mason really wanted to eat there before he went home, so we all joined him! On our way back to Nana and Papa's house we stopped at a couple of stores and found some sleds for our next adventure! There is a great park just above my parents house that is great for sledding! Even Arie went off the ...

Monroeplanet: January 2015

http://monroeplanet.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Thursday, January 1, 2015. A thing we started last year when we were in Utah was going to Brick Oven for dinner on New Year's Eve. It was so fun and so delicious that we decided to make it a tradition and go again this year! We were even seated at the same exact table as last year! We enjoyed the all you can eat pizza and salad option. It's the best because they bring all the different kinds of pizza around for you to choose from. They also do the same with the desserts! We left soon after New Years, but...

Monroeplanet: October 2011

http://monroeplanet.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

Monday, October 31, 2011. Once the kids got home from school they quickly completed their homework and then we made pizza. This year the boys got to make their own pizzas. They always have fun putting their own toppings on their very own pizza! While eating our pizza the doorbell began to ring - trick or treating had officially begun! The boys quickly finished eating and got into their costumes. Devon was the first one at every house and the first one to leave. I told Devon he had to wait for his bro...

Organized Chaos: Noah's Endoscopy

http://wadeanderin.blogspot.com/2011/03/noahs-endoscopy.html

Monday, March 7, 2011. Fun subject, eh? Figured it was worth a post though? I haven't been very good about keeping the info current on Noah, but after some success with diet and supplement interventions on a behavioral side, we still really have struggles with Noah's eating and sleeping - he doesn't eat or sleep much. Here are some pictures of the day:. Getting all prepped and ready - including taking a little goofy juice to make him nice and calm (I could use a supply of that at home)! This is great of ...

Monroeplanet: April 2012

http://monroeplanet.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

Sunday, April 29, 2012. Week Five - April 29th - May 5th. Today was a very nice low-key Sunday. It started out with a surprise visit from Chad and the boys before they went to church. Chad had a speaking assignment in another ward today, so he took all the boys with him. I didn't think I would see them till later in afternoon, so I was delighted when they walked in! They only stayed for about 10 to 15 minutes, but it was a great start to my day. Another little highlight of the evening happened right as C...
