AstroJournal: April 2014

http://astrojournal.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html

The personal astronomy blog of James Guilford. Sunday, April 27, 2014. Open Night: Mars beautiful, few see it. The night of April 26 was an Open Night at Stephens Memorial Observatory. Mars was the featured object along with a couple of star clusters, that moonless night. I feared a big crowd - Mars can really pack 'em in - but over the course of the night only eight visitors came. Those who did visit, however, had the best telescopic views of planet Mars that I have ever enjoyed! Location: Hiram, OH, USA.

Hubbub Moon | PhotonStopper

Life, the Universe, and Everything…. On July 31, 2015. The doubler does soften the image slightly but, with a larger image falling upon the camera sensor, I crop less to achieve a nice-sized Moon. I (stupidly) didn’t have my DSLR gear with me but was carrying my trusty iPhone 6SE with its tiny but mighty internal camera.
