Devoted to contemporary art in shanghai. Monday, 26 October 2009. Thomas Palme @Stage Back Shanghai PRIMORDIAL BAVARIAN DRAWING HITS SHANGHAI. I wandered up the candlelit concrete stairs of the once opium den of the 696 Weihai Lu. Artists studio complex to the StageBack. Art space. On entering the space I was relieved to discover no paintings overly tastefully framed on the walls, no flowers arranged in a vase, no guilt, or glitter. Footprint of Art in Shanghai. Monday, 13 April 2009. A Starting Point: Intrude Art and Life 366. Art is not high up there. It should be something that could be felt, loved, by everyone, happening in everyday life. As a matter of fact, art itself should be part of life. And ideal situation is to live life as if living in art. On this land which is in lack of art soil for long,. To actually live an arty life is an expectation surpassing reality. However, there are people who are trying to make a difference.

Footprint of Art in Shanghai. Tuesday, 14 April 2009. Annual spring art fair in shanghai. Theme of this year:"live a life through arts". I do support this saying in the perspective that it tries to bring arts to the mass, however as a fair with 150 million yuan as a turnover in the past, I hope it is not only trying to persuade the mass to "live a life through purchasing arts". Wish it does bring a good start for Chinese arts as this year's first art expo, just as they hope. 10am-18pm, Apr 16-20, 2009.
