Aussie Musician: Piano Teaching In Four Sentences

Wednesday, June 15, 2011. Piano Teaching In Four Sentences. I'm sure I posted this before, but I can't find where. This is a combination of Déjà vu and amnesia, I suppose, because I'm sure I remember forgetting it before:. Jules Massenet said that piano teaching involves knowing four sentences:. 1 Bonjour, Mademoiselle. 2 Not so fast/slow. 3 Less pedal, please. 4 Give my regards to your mother. Aussie Musician: October 2009

Saturday, October 31, 2009. 1 The arts teach children to make good judgments about qualitative relationships. Unlike much of the curriculum in which correct answers and rules prevail, in the arts, it is judgment rather than rules that prevail. 2 The arts teach children that problems can have more than one solution and that questions can have more than one answer. 3 The arts celebrate multiple perspectives. One of their large lessons is that there are many ways to see and interpret the world. 9 The arts e...

Aussie Musician: September 2010
http://aussiemusician.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 02, 2010. I may not post much here any more, because I'm writing for Mitchell Conservatorium at the address in the link at the top. Is the place where I have worked over the past ten years. I am enjoying writing about the musical opportunities offered by our regional conservatorium and also about Music generally. And getting paid a small amount to do it. So come on over! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Australian Music Examinations Board [AMEB].

Aussie Musician: March 2014
http://aussiemusician.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 28, 2014. All the guff on music notation. Here is a terrific webpage, giving us the good oil on musical notation. It includes this wonderful graphic:. Would I be churlish if I said that, much as I like the picture and the article, it is a bit like a road sign, which makes a lot more sense to people who already know where they're going. Links to this post. Monday, March 24, 2014. A trivia question for you:. Who wrote Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor. A true Eighteenth Century greenie!

Uniqueness of Jesus: What John Thought of Jesus
http://uniquenessofjesus.blogspot.com/2007/01/what-john-thought-of-jesus.html
Wednesday, January 17, 2007. What John Thought of Jesus. I'm reading through the Gospel of John. In this book, there are a lot of statements about the greatness of Jesus, both made by himself, by others who knew him, and by the author of this gospel, whom Christans from the earliest times have believed to be John the Apostle. John starts his book as if he were writing the bible all over again, and uses language that makes anyone who knows the Old Testament think of Genesis. The first words in Genesis are.

Uniqueness of Jesus: Statement of purpose
http://uniquenessofjesus.blogspot.com/2006/12/statement-of-purpose.html
Tuesday, December 19, 2006. Pointed out in an article about blogging in The Briefing. That there are no well known evangelistic Godblogs. I can't promise to change this, but I can at least set up a blog that is intended to be for people who are thinking about Jesus. Whatever else you study, do not fail to study and investigate and test the claims of Jesus. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Issues That Make Christians Squirm. Two Ways To Live. Uniqueness of Jesus: January 2007
http://uniquenessofjesus.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 25, 2007. One of the things I find amazing about Jesus is how he would honestly admit that he is the rightful ruler of the universe, and take a humble place as servant. In John's Gospel chapter 21 (which I finished reading through this morning) Jesus presents himself as the Risen Son of God, and then cooks everybody some breakfast! And listen to these words from John chapter 13:. Yes, I am the King of all Kings and Lord of all Lords. Now, please let me wash your feet! John starts his bo...

What I'm Reading: Music for Relationship Strain?
http://themusickeplace.blogspot.com/2007/07/music-for-relationship-strain.html
Thursday, July 05, 2007. Music for Relationship Strain? In reading through Remarriage After Divorce In Today's Church. I was taken by Gordon Wenham's interesting comment about action churches should engage in to help people understand the bible's teaching about divorce and remarriage:. Thank you for this recommendation. As one lamenting my way through some very heavy things, I am surprised and glad that worship is part of a book on divorce and remarriage. What I'm Reading: Through the Bible, Through the Year
http://themusickeplace.blogspot.com/2007/12/through-bible-through-year.html
Sunday, December 30, 2007. Through the Bible, Through the Year. Firstly, I must point out that the title is a misnomer, because the book will give you an overview of the Bible, but there is about one verse per day at the head of each page, with interesting comments by Stott and a Bible passage for further reading cited at the bottom of the page. I think the book will only be worthwhile if you do read the suggested additional reading as the main Bible reading and then read Dr Stott's comments. With th...
