Architectural Theory: Constructing Inequality
http://slstevens.blogspot.com/2007/08/constructing-inequality.html
Thursday, August 9, 2007. In the essay by Susan Bickford, it is in my opinion that an attempt was made to reconnect political theory to the study of cities by probing the link between built environment, public life, and democratic politics. This essay also brought to the surface how inequalities in communities and differences in opinions regarding diversity has ultimately come to affect the communities in which we live. The question I ask is this: Are CID’s walling people in or out? I am not sure I agree...

Thursday, August 30, 2007. The Decline of the Urban Downtown. Some of the areas that I plan to look and hopefully answer are these:. Have the suburbs pulled the desirable businesses out of the downtown or were they already on the way out? If they left for the suburbs do they succeed? Do downtown areas do enough to keep businesses from leaving and of attracting new business? Why do shoppers ignore the downtown areas? Is it purely based on what stores are there or is it a feeling of safety? What I could ag...

BAC Distance Arch Blog: Studio Final: Concept Statement
http://bac-reskelund.blogspot.com/2007/08/studio-final-concept-statement.html
BAC Distance Arch Blog. Tuesday, October 2, 2007. Studio Final: Concept Statement. The final Concept Statement: "Flowing Boston - Flowing Spaces" evolved during the intensive week from my desire to apply the principles of "Organic Architecture" (as in the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright) to an urban retail environment. This was intended as a personal exploration of the applicability of these principles to what is - for me - a very different kind of design problem. Posted by Rick E. BAC Distance M....

THEORY I - Gus G.-Angulo - BAC: I have “restructured” my original research
http://gusangulo-bac-theory.blogspot.com/2007/09/i-have-restructured-my-original.html
THEORY I - Gus G.-Angulo - BAC. Saturday, September 15, 2007. I have “restructured” my original research. After some research and feedback, I think I have “restructured” my original research frame. I think this has give me (and is giving me) a better understanding of what I want. Setting some order of thought and coherence in the relations of the ideas:. 8220;Function of an architect within a community;. The hearth of Architecture”. Is not about the brick is about the man. We prostitute our profession.

THEORY I - Gus G.-Angulo - BAC: I’ll keep working
http://gusangulo-bac-theory.blogspot.com/2007/09/ill-keep-working.html
THEORY I - Gus G.-Angulo - BAC. Sunday, September 23, 2007. I’ll keep working. Now may struggle (just like I mentioned to Jaclyn) is that I find myself with so much more information that I gather but I have not enough time to incorporate in my paper and that I want to because I think is important and gives to the paper a more “research” seriousness and take away the feeling of just being a “personal comment” kind of deal. I’ll keep working and looking forward to see the work of my other classmates.

Friday, August 31, 2007. There's a Problem with my Community. Problem: My local community does not get along. The fire department, police department, and rescue station turn their heads when the others come. The town manager left before term about 2 years ago due to town politics. There are no family groups, playgrounds, or parks to promote residential interactions. It’s like residents stay in their homes and hide instead of coming out to communicate. How am I going to solve this problem?
