Tuesday, October 28, 2014. Bach Invention Number 8. Caleb has been working very hard on his Bach Invention and I think he's finally mastered it. I took this video of him practicing this weekend. The leaves are starting to fall at a pretty good rate here. The kids have been eager to help with the raking and were pretty cute this weekend, raking and then taking breaks with our neighbor Kyle. Caleb at age 4. He ran a 34:23. Caleb at age 5. He ran a 31:41. Caleb at age 6. He ran a 29:15. He ran so hard he fe...

Barnes Family: Berry picking
http://randykatiecaleb.blogspot.com/2015/08/berry-picking.html
Thursday, August 13, 2015. Our return home from Pennsylvania coincided perfectly with peak berry season, so we spent one morning enjoying one of our local farms. Randy and I used to laugh about how unhelpful the kids were, but they actually pull their own weight now and pick plenty of berries. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Saturday, May 16, 2015. Adelina and I have been looking forward to the Mother's Day road race since last year! She's been running more at school, so she was in great shape for the 3.5 mile race. The boys and all the neighbors were lined up in front of our house, ready to cheer us on. Kate and Addy Hickey.looking good! I was so proud of her hard work and determination! Caleb's mother's day card. I really loved Adelina's gift of a little greenhouse and accompanying book. Marine Corps Honor Run 5K. Once we ...

Tuesday, July 21, 2015. On Saturday, Randy wanted to take the kids to Shorty's for a hot dog lunch. Our waitress had so much fun with us and couldn't believe the number of hotdogs that our table ate.I think the final number was around 16. On Sunday morning, the kids took their usual jog and then relaxed by Grammy and Grandpa's fish pond. The backyard swing was a highlight per usual. Adelina loved to spend time there reading. On Sunday afternoon, cousin Oliver arrived! Caleb quickly gave him a piano lesson.

http://randykatiecaleb.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 29, 2015. Today is the 29th of January.so by the end of the day, Randy and I will have run at least 3 miles for 29 days straight. We've had some frigid temperatures and some icy mornings, but the biggest challenge has been this week by far. On Tuesday, we both managed to get in 3 miles of running/walking/snowshoeing during the blizzard. Thankfully I've got these snazzy sneakers outfitted with yaktraks! We loved this little squirrel with it's snowy tail! And a game of Monopoly! Randy cou...

Thursday, August 13, 2015. This is one of our favorites.a musical wall. I loved watching Adelina explore the different sounds she made while hitting the pipes. This sculpture is made out of newspaper. It has become part of the surrounding ecosystem and has plants growing on top of it. The kids were asked to make their own sculpture out of newspaper and to think about how this sculpture would change over time. Levi exploring rainbows created by a prism. Building bridges and structures.

Tuesday, February 17, 2015. Our sledding hill has been out of commission for a while given the depth of snowpack we have on the ground. I decided to put a little effort into getting it back up and running and created a pretty fun "luge" track! Caleb and Lina working in their ice factory! Sunday, February 15, 2015. More Snow.Blah, Blah, Blah! Randy has started digging paths in the yard so that the kids have a little more space to play. They could literally get lost in this deep snow. It's hard to believe ...

Wednesday, December 31, 2014. I created a 2014 highlight video from our photos from the past year and put it to some music. Of course, youtube flagged it since I used copy written music. So, I'm having a little trouble sharing the video on the blog. It's about 15 minutes long, so be prepared! The link to the video is below.hopefully it works! Http:/ youtu.be/ln 6SKltYuI. Okay, so I've heard that the youtube link isn't working. Try this vimeo link instead. Another great Christmas present to the kids was a...

Saturday, July 26, 2014. On Friday afternoon we took advantage of Randy's "half-day Fridays" and went for a Charles River boat ride. The kids stayed at the bow of the boat for the entire trip and loved being on the water. The weather couldn't have been more perfect and it was nice being a tourist in our own town. There was a band playing on the next block and it really made for the perfect Boston evening. And of course, no trip to the North End is complete without cannolis! Raspberry and Blueberry Picking.
