This was the beginning of many years of turning out fine wooden chairs made for comfort elegance and made to last. The Marble and Shattuck Chair Company. The facility has a hall capacity of 90 people. The kitchen contains two large refrigerators and two warming ovens. City of Bedford Historic Buildings. Bedford, Ohio History. The town of Bedford Ohio was originally part of Bedford Township in the Western Reserve. This was land surveyed in 1797 for the Connecticut Land Company. Early settlers were attracted by the large water fall for mill sites and the abundance of natural resources. In Spring of 2010, students from Mr. Davis' Honors class attending The Chamberlain Middle School in the Twinsburg City School were presented with a special project in conjunction with the Bedford Historical Society. Students were to do a research project about selected objects in the Museum's Civil War collection. Here are the results of this exciting collaboration.

City of Bedford Historic Buildings. June 3, 2005. The Bedford Historical Society Town Hall Building Addition is completed. This project allows visitors with limited mobility an opportunity to visit the Museum and Library. The beautiful stone patio has been set in a new position. Volunteers did a wonderful job of setting up the exhibits that had been stored for over three years. A monumental task! A Dedication Ceremony and Ribbon cutting was a huge success on October 2, 2004. Interim Director / Curator.

City of Bedford Historic Buildings. Historic Bedford Buildings and Monuments. 1892 Old Baptist Church. 1832 Hezekiah Dunham House. A brick Georgian mansion built by one of Bedford's early settlers. The house was restored mainly by volunteer labor in the 1980s to 2000. Furnishings in the house reflect three periods of occupancy; mid 1800s, 1900 and 1950.
