Around the world in 90 days. Tuesday, May 28, 2013. Day 65 - Akureyri. Everyday that we were in Akureyri, Buddy mentioned how beautiful it was there. As you saw from yesterday's photo of the city on the edge of the fjord, it really is breath-taking. We wandered around town in the morning, stopping at the cultural center, the Hof, and a traditional bread-making place. We had lunch at a cute little Parisian cafe, and then *gasp* bought more yarn at a small shop called Flora. Sheep in front of Lake Myvatn.

Around the world in 90 days. Saturday, December 28, 2013. Day 81 - Fernandina. Sally Lightfoot eating a marine iguana! Flightless cormorant with a big baby! A nice pahoehoe hike to start the day, and then the really cool part; seeing something unique to the Galapagos -. This is the only place where iguanas have evolved to swim underwater to eat algae off of rocks. Mola mola pic taken from the boat. During this boat ride we had another important moment - crossing the equator! Our trip by the numbers.

Around the world in 90 days. Sunday, December 29, 2013. Day 82 - Santiago and Bartolome. Started off the day with a hike around Santiago Island. The hike over the pahoehoe lava was cool (as always), but the real treat was seeing the Galapagos fur seals. They were quite cute and made for some great pictures. During the morning snorkel we saw an octopus, a snake eel, small rays, and more trumpetfish. Finished off our daily activities with a hike up Bartolome Island. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Around the world in 90 days. Tuesday, December 31, 2013. Day 88 - Home At Last! So glad to be home. After our 10 hour wait in Ecuador we finally got on a flight to Miami. From there we were supposed to catch our last flight back to San Francisco, but here we had our first (and last) flight delay. Luckily it wasn't very long and we made it home only a little bit later than expected. Not too bad considering we had taken 22 flights throughout the entire trip! January 12, 2014 at 8:03 AM. Day 81 - Fernandina.
