On the last Saturday of every month every family is to send one member into the community to do a community service project. The entire country is essentially shut down- no cars are allowed to drive and no stores are open, from 8-11 am. This is the formal Umuganda day, but there can be other umugandas, like the youth did. Break up the dirt.
