Few of the many places of worship here are Baba Garibnath temple, Goddess Kali temple, Ram Krishna temple, Badi masjid, Bada Imambara and Gurudwara at Ramna. Variety of industries in Muzaffarpur district are chemical factories, leather units, thermal power plant and dairies.

It lies in plain which has fertile lands. The central portion has depression which is the main reason behind its flooding every year. District has many lakes and water bodies.
