Birding Is Fun!: Birding Lake Atitlan

http://www.birdingisfun.com/2015/04/birding-lake-atitlan.html

Monday, April 20, 2015. Posted by Chris Rohrer. We continue our Guatemalan trek into a beautiful area known as Lake Atitlan or El Lago Atitlan. There are wonderful accommodations here for a birder to explore, relax and go shopping:) It's a great place to visit. And it's a great place to find cool birds! We arrived at the launch pad to get to our hotel( Casa Del Mundo. We hiked around several Mayan villages and jumped on board several boats to get to a couple areas that were difficult to explore. The walk...

http://www.birdingisfun.com/2015/05/a-robust-robin-and-little-king_3.html

Sunday, May 3, 2015. A robust robin and a little king. Posted by Kenneth Cole Schneider. Two days after we left the fair skies of Florida behind. we arrived at our second home in NE Illinois. Sunburst over the back gate:. Clouds over the Everglades:. A Red-tailed Hawk kited motionless in the sky against the sharp headwind, with gusts over 40 MPH:. The buildings also stood still for the camera:. Only two showed their faces:. American Robins were special to me as a youngster in New Jersey, for they stirred...

http://www.birdingisfun.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

Monday, February 16, 2015. Posted by Julie G. In the Midwest, the month of February is typically frigid, cloudy and gray. As we shiver and shovel through the winter season, I offer these warbler images with hope that they will brighten your day. A resplendent Black-throated Green Warbler perches on green foliage. An orange-throated beauty in search of a meal Blackburnian Warbler. Hunting for a buggy snack Cape May Warbler. A colorful Chestnut-sided Warbler seeks food. The russet cap of a Palm Warbler.

Birding Is Fun!: Painted Buntings in demand and decline

http://www.birdingisfun.com/2014/02/painted-buntings-in-demand-and-decline.html

Monday, February 3, 2014. Painted Buntings in demand and decline. Posted by Kenneth Cole Schneider. More recently, I took up photography. Now the Painted Bunting is a favored subject. I have many shots of them at bird feeders, but I strive to capture their image in more natural surroundings. The Danger of Beauty. Our preliminary data analysis shows that for the domestic trade in Mexico alone, more than 100,000 Painted Buntings were trapped from 1984 through 2000, an average of 5,800 birds per year. T...

Still Life With Birder. 2014 Bird List (N. America). Thursday, January 16, 2014. This is another of our little birds of winter. Like chickadees, nuthatches are year-round residents here. It is always a pleasure to see one hitching down the trunk of a tree, head-first. The White-breasted Nuthatch ( Sitta carolinensis. Is the largest of the four North American nuthatch species. Their habitat is deciduous and mixed deciduous-coniferous forests and treed residential areas (. That's me, waving hands. I guess ...

Tico Birder: Sobre el autor

http://spadebill.blogspot.com/p/sobre-david.html

The Broadstairs Birder: SNOW BUNTINGS AT FORENESS

http://thebroadstairsbirder.blogspot.com/2013/12/snow-bunting-at-foreness.html

Monday, 30 December 2013. SNOW BUNTINGS AT FORENESS. In very gloomy conditions I managed to find the Snow Bunting flock that Chris Gibbard found yesterday.I reckon there are 40 birds which is certainly the most I've seen in Kent.Above are two very dodgy pictures which were taken at about 3.45.If you get a chance go and see them they really are great little birds.I caught up with them on the beach and the dunes area underneath the pumping station. 29 March 2014 at 22:54. The Cuckoo's Nest

A blog about my birding adventures and observations in my home state of Western Australia. Saturday, 19 December 2015. On a recent trip to Esperance on Western Australia's south coast, I was able to spend a bit of time birding. We went via Kalgoorlie to break up the nine hour drive and stayed a night there. In the early hours of the morning I drove out of Kal to the Kurrawang Nature Reserve. This yielded very little - just a couple of White-fronted Honeyeaters. Cape Barren Goose, Esperance Golf Course.
