Texas government: April 2011
http://texasgovernmentbykat.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 28, 2011. But that's not the primary concern. The main problem is the time constraint they are facing with only 31 days left. Obviously the budget proposal is the necessary motive for these sessions, but debt is a simultaneous deterrent at the time also. If the members don't reach a consensus in time it'll lead to a special session. Friday, April 15, 2011. I decided to comment on your post. But another option to consider is how reponsible people seeking their concealed weapon lincense wou...

Becca's Moderate View on Tx Govt: I'd say the MetroRail is inching along...

Becca's Moderate View on Tx Govt. Friday, May 6, 2011. I'd say the MetroRail is inching along. As Surid Kaphle mentions in his blog " A Great Citizen. Although the amount of passengers increased during SXSW, it still was not that useful. The last train left downtown at 11:30pm. I think that the MetroRail has great potential, and will be successful, eventually. Austin needs to dedicate more time and money to make it useful to a larger percentage of the population. Becca's Moderate View on Tx Govt: We aren't forcing you to lay people off...
http://beccadonovan4.blogspot.com/2011/03/we-arent-forcing-you-to-lay-people-off.html
Becca's Moderate View on Tx Govt. Friday, March 11, 2011. We aren't forcing you to lay people off. As the Legislative Session continues, the arguments about Educational Budget Cuts heats up more and more. Charles Kuffner singles out Perry's statement claiming that the State Government isn't forcing any layoffs, that decision is made at the local level. Wouldn't you stand up to critics saying that this is what the community of Texas asked for? Becca's Moderate View on TX Govt. Blue Oasis in a Big Red State.

Cowboys vs. Politics: March 2011
http://cowboysvspolitics.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Cowboys vs. Politics. Friday, March 11, 2011. The recent bill that forces women to have a sonogram prior to abortion is a terrible invasion; however, this. Post by Rachel Farris of Mean Rachel.com turns the focus onto an issue that seems to have greater importance. In reality, this post is geared more to those of a liberal view, but I would hope that it would bring attention to what is happening now, instead of what hasn't happened yet and perhaps sway some opinions. We have children who need help now, a...

Texas Chitchat: April 2011
http://texaschitchat.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 29, 2011. In Texas when you have a license to carry a gun, you are required to keep it concealed, but that could soon change. The open-carry bill. Has been gaining some major traction, and now has plans to go to the full house. This bill has been gaining some ground, but I don't think that it is necessary. If someone has to carry a gun it shouldn't be a problem for them to conceal it. I can't think of any reason that someone would need to carry a gun out in the open. Friday, April 15, 2011.

Texas Chitchat: Yes To Drug Testing!!!
http://texaschitchat.blogspot.com/2011/04/yes-to-drug-testing.html
Friday, April 15, 2011. Yes To Drug Testing! In a blog posted on the Texas Republic Times. Titled Drug Testing, the author speaks on House Bill 126. This is a bill that would require those filing for unemployment to pass a drug test before they can receive any of those benefits. Though some valid points are made, and it definitely does seem that the main point of this bill is to try and save the government money, I agree with the bill. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Texas Chitchat: May 2011
http://texaschitchat.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 13, 2011. In the blog "Texas State and Local Government", Ross McEwen posted an entry titled "Drinking Age". That should have been a controlled environment. It didn't do anyone any good, it left kids with brain damage, broken bones, and partial blindness. We should all just be grateful that no one died. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Cowboys vs. Politics: Guns, guns, and more guns...
http://cowboysvspolitics.blogspot.com/2011/04/guns-guns-and-more-guns.html
Cowboys vs. Politics. Friday, April 15, 2011. Guns, guns, and more guns. My hatred of guns led me to a post. By Lura C., who touched on the same bill that I spoke of in my last entry. I agree with your opinion, Lura, that the bill should not be passed, however, I'm one of those people that dislikes guns to begin with. Sure, it would be an accident, but perhaps that person would not have decided to bring their weapon if it were still against the law. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My Tx Govt Space.

No Machine Politics Here: Taking Notice
http://nomachinepoliticshere.blogspot.com/2011/04/taking-notice.html
No Machine Politics Here. Friday, April 15, 2011. Budget cuts and education is a touchy subject to many people throughout Texas. And everyone has an opinion. The budget, to date, is unbalanced, but should we really be cutting in the education department? And there are alternatives. The blogger suggests some alternatives that could generate income for Texas, as well as cut frivolous spending. Open casinos and legalize gambling. Many people live off of welfare and other government assistance programs.
