"It Is What It Is": My middle-of-the-night visit from the local Five-Oh
http://patscott-tomlinson.blogspot.com/2006/11/my-middle-of-night-visit-from-local.html
It Is What It Is". My middle-of-the-night visit from the local Five-Oh. This is something you don't want to hear at 12:29 AM - especially preceded by loud, insistent banging on your front door and followed by a bright flashlight in your face as you jump out of a solid sleep, heart pounding, and run to look out the window next to your door to make sure your house isn't burning down. You reported a break-in? Totally freaked out and simultaneously trying to wake up): "Ummmmmmmmmm . No? Yes, my light will co...

"It Is What It Is": Giving Thanks
http://patscott-tomlinson.blogspot.com/2006/11/giving-thanks.html
It Is What It Is". I am thankful for everything happening in my life, and all the people that I connect with every day (in the flesh and virtually :) ) I don't want to sound sappy, but I mean it. Every person or situation that comes into your life - good or bad, positive or negative - receive it as a gift. Pretend you are opening a present.". Anyway, I shopped for the wine and fruit and nuts tonight, I came home and made the fresh cranberry sauce, and I am ready for Thanksgiving! Posted by Flip @ 11:21 PM.

"It Is What It Is": Holiday Romance
http://patscott-tomlinson.blogspot.com/2006/12/holiday-romance.html
It Is What It Is". To set the stage, a recap from one of my posts below:. A month or so ago, our friends Aaron (one of Scott's dive buddies) and Katie (his girl) got engaged. I asked Aaron how he proposed to Katie, and he sent me this link to their wedding website. Which I thought was so cute I e-mailed my husband and demanded he post an online tribute to our love in the form of a webpage - ASAP. Scott did not miss the opportunity to share the website with all Aaron's other dive buddies. I opened the e-m...

"It Is What It Is": I'm a quitter ...
http://patscott-tomlinson.blogspot.com/2006/10/im-quitter.html
It Is What It Is". I'm a quitter . If you catch me smoking, I'd better be on fire. I went to a nurse practioner today for help with quitting the cigs. Virginia Slim Ultra Light Menthol, to be exact. We had a long talk (about 1/2 hour) and she prescribed Wellbutrin. My official quit date will be November 1. 2 Try to smoke 2 - 4 less cigs a day (than I do now) by quit date. 3 Start Wellbutrin while still smoking to make sure I have no adverse side affects from it. "It Is What It Is": Old Friends
http://patscott-tomlinson.blogspot.com/2006/10/old-friends.html
It Is What It Is". This past weekend, my best friend Jenn had visitors to her horse farm (River Crest) in Nottingham, New Hampshire. Denis D'Vachio of Saddlebrook Farm, Hauppauge, LI, NY came with his daughter. We hadn't seen them since 1999. How did this happen? We continued to visit on our trips home to LI, and when Jenn was planning her wedding she invited Denis' daughter, Christine, to be a bridesmaid. This hurt Jenn tremendously and she swore she would never talk to Denis again. I can't help thinkin...

"It Is What It Is": "Had a Bad Day" was my theme song today
http://patscott-tomlinson.blogspot.com/2006/11/had-bad-day-was-my-theme-song-today.html
It Is What It Is". Had a Bad Day" was my theme song today. Man, I did NOT want to exercise tonight. 1) I got out of work late (6pm) and that was after an 11 hour day (which was more stressful than usual, and the architect cancelled his site visit this morning which made me slightly angry for the whole day - but I digress.). 2) It took me 1/2 hour just to get from Southie through the tunnel and over the Zakim bridge. Not a good sign as this usually takes me 4 minutes. I am proud of myself!

"It Is What It Is": The number one cause of divorce is marriage.
http://patscott-tomlinson.blogspot.com/2006/10/number-one-cause-of-divorce-is_20.html
It Is What It Is". The number one cause of divorce is marriage. Of course, divorce isn't in the cards for any of our friends that have recently tied the knot or announced their engagement. Scott's friend, Aaron and I were chatting via e-mail and I congratulated him on his recent engagement to Katie and inquired how and where he proposed. He replied with a link to their website. He declined, and I decided that was OK. Scott shows he loves me in many ways and I don't need to get on the 'net to know it.
