Boliviaog: January 2010
http://boliviaog.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
A blog that was about Bolivia, and is now about Ecuador and other adventures. Tuesday, January 19, 2010. Warning: Weepy Reflection Ahead. Will more people join or start their own gardens? I haven’t even left yet. Changing the World- Literally. Then the kids all played games and won “prizes” like towels and socks. Who picked those prizes? They also got tons of candy, cookies and some cheap-o toys. The new Christmas Princess was crowned and her court danced and generally sat around being adorable. You want...

A blog that was about Bolivia, and is now about Ecuador and other adventures. Saturday, September 5, 2009. The older I get, the more I want to dress like a pirate. Had a disco movil (dj and sound system) and everything! We basically took the party over and danced until the abuelita kicked us out so she could get some sleep. My fellow Bolivian Cindy, not one to miss a chance to grind to reggaeton and do the cumbia shuffle made quite an impression on my neighbors, leav. Me and little brother Daniel. The gr...

A blog that was about Bolivia, and is now about Ecuador and other adventures. Thursday, December 10, 2009. Dancing with the Stars, Campo Edition. September was a month full of campo bailes. A fight or two usually breaks out so they often hire military personale to keep things under control. They are usually drinking and dancing too. At these things I usually don’t last much past 2 or 3 in the morning, even if I’ve done nothing but sleep all day in preparation. And the highs school dance (to elect the Rei...
Boliviaog: November 2008
http://boliviaog.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
A blog that was about Bolivia, and is now about Ecuador and other adventures. Tuesday, November 4, 2008. My house is a very, very, very fine house. All this and more! I don’t think I’ll ever be able to rent a house anywhere for $40 ever again in my life. The previous volunteer picked the color scheme: olive green outside and peach inside. Pineapple plants and my neighbors. The Barbie blanket is just a loaner, the 101 Dalmatians mattress is all mine. Dig the retro 70s curtains, hand sewn by yours truly.

Christmas lunch, before and after.

Lost and Found in Panama. My adventures continue as a Sustainable Agriculture Systems volunteer in Panama.what will I lose and find here? Monday, October 26, 2009. In the past month (in which I have not updated my blog), I have been trying to fix my digital camera to take pictures to post here, which really is why I haven’t posted sooner. The former leader is still around so I have been learning the ropes from her, but starting mid-November and until I leave in April it’s going to be the Raquel show.

Lost and Found in Panama. My adventures continue as a Sustainable Agriculture Systems volunteer in Panama.what will I lose and find here? Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road? A memory: when my brother and I were young, we would tell each other “why did the chicken cross the road? Why do I mention this? Cochino/a (ko-chee-no/a): very dirty, ragged, unkempt sort of a lower-class/skankyness connotation; like, if a kid plays in the mud then tries to grab a tortilla off someone’s plate, you yell at them for being cochino/a. The goal, often hard to achieve in ridiculous heat/weather conditions, is to stay kempt and un-cochina…. Monday, June 15, 2009.
