http://beatyboys.blogspot.com/2012/08/picnic-at-beach.html
Wednesday, August 15. Picnic at the beach. The boys and I spent most of the morning yesterday baking cookies. They both are really good at measuring and mixing at this point. But every job has to be shared between them so it takes twice as long. This morning we delivered batches to family and Geno's work. While he's pretty good at remembering each letter's sound, I wondered how he'd do identifying the beginning sounds of words. To test him, I grabbed 12 household items (e.g. iPad, apple, scissors, puzzle pieces, LEGOs, etc.) and placed them around the edge of our round kitchen table. We made our own pull...

Friday, May 29, 2015. How to Make a Weather Vane. We have had some crazy weather here in the Midwest this spring: many days of rain, cooler-than-normal temps, and gusty winds. This activity was perfect for those blustery days. Making a weather vane is a simple project; gathering supplies is the hardest part. Disposable dinner plate (a sturdy one) - an extra is optional. Small plastic food container with a lid (dig one of your recyclables). Sharpened pencil with an eraser. Small rocks or glass baubles.
