Why I love Brad. Why I love Emily. I remember the first time I saw Brad. I was watching a few of my friends play in an intramural basketball game, and when it was over, one of the girls from my church walked in. She told me she was watching her boyfriend. His name was Brad. Her response was short. “You can’t have him,” she said. I didn’t think I wanted him, but I guess it was a portent of things to come. Several months later, we started dating, and the rest is, as they say, history.

Why I love Brad. Why I love Emily. My parents taught me to play. Every July my family (including extended family) would go to Lake Powell in Arizona and stay for the week on a houseboat. During that week we went water skiing, jet skiing, cliff jumping, fishing, and played games. This was always my favorite week of the year. This has allowed not only my immediate family to come together but for all of us to come closer together as an extended family as well. My parents taught me to enjoy life.

Sunday, November 23, 2014. Thursday night, we had a Relief Society meeting. 55 ladies came, which meant there were probably 30 kids in the nursery. Brad was one of the babysitters. It was a zoo. Brad probably took Lia to get a drink so he could escape the madness temporarily, and this is her little adventure of getting a drink on her own. Gratitude Journal #1- The What and the Why. During one of our evening family devotionals, my mom gave each of us one minute to write everything we were grateful for. We raced for the longest list, and then realized we really are grateful for things like "carpet" and "bobby pins".
