The BR Beer Scene: Stone Ruination IPA
http://www.brbeerscene.com/2010/05/stone-ruination-ipa.html
Friday, May 7, 2010. Here's one that you can find in the BR stores with better beer selections. the Stone Ruination IPA. This is out of California and Stone Brewing Co. Dustin Davis brought this particular one over to taste. it pours a clear deep gold color. Great head with good retention and lacing. Attractive but not exceptional. There is a ridiculous smell to it, Dustin says "it's like shoving a hop cone up your nose," and I agree. Just what an IPA should smell like. My prior Stone reviews:. So I gues...

The BR Beer Scene: Feature Beer Friday! - Brash Cold Ass Honky
http://www.brbeerscene.com/2013/09/feature-beer-friday-brash-cold-ass-honky.html
Friday, September 20, 2013. Brash Cold Ass Honky. Surprisingly, this is only the second offering from Brash Beers. That I've had on Feature Beer Friday! And the first was a collaboration with Clown Shoes. This week Brash gets this space all to themselves with some Cold Ass Honky. I'm a little surprised that they received label approval with that name. but I guess this isn't Texas. They seem to be a lot more strict on the other side of the Sabine. The BR Beer Scene: December 2014
http://www.brbeerscene.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 16, 2014. Review: Abita Wrought Iron IPA. Alright, time for a beer review, just me this time, so this isn't our Feature Beer, but Abita Brewing. Although I wasn't as impressed with the Imperator Black IPA. I thought it needed more hops, but I did think that the Spring IPA and Grapefruit Harvest IPA were steps in the right direction, so. Hopefully I feel the same about the Wrought Iron IPA. The first sip isn't quite as pleasant, the hops are all there, but the bitterness is a little hars...

The BR Beer Scene: Feature Beer Friday! - Saint Arnold Amber Dry-Hopped
http://www.brbeerscene.com/2014/10/feature-beer-friday-saint-arnold-amber.html
Friday, October 31, 2014. Saint Arnold Amber Dry-Hopped. Time for our first ever Feature Beer Friday! Trip to the Saint Arnold Brewery. In Houston, TX. I'm sure almost all of you have heard of Saint Arnold and probably tried several of their offerings, but this is one I hadn't seen before. I've had their regular amber ale before, it was their first ever beer and has been around for about 20 years now, but I'd never seen a bomber of the dry-hopped version. Brenton Day ( The Ale Runner. Earthy and funky co...

The BR Beer Scene: Slovakia - Golden Pheasant & Czech Pilsners
http://www.brbeerscene.com/2010/06/slovakia-golden-pheasant-czech-pilsners.html
Sunday, June 20, 2010. Slovakia - Golden Pheasant and Czech Pilsners. The beer scene in Slovakia is a step up from the worst countries I've encountered so far, but still appears to be a good bit below the best countries. Fortunately I can say that I have had a beer from Slovakia, as Golden Pheasant used to be a staple of the Chimes. Back to the 2010 FIFA World Cup Beer Tour main page.
