Taking Aim | Skye's Journey
https://skyesjourney.wordpress.com/2010/02/11/taking-aim
Well, we picked up Skye’s newest batch of Interferon shots at the pharmacy this week. Each new “refill” is for four weeks’ worth of shots (if they’re able to provide them to us all at once), and this was the next-to-last refill, so you know what that means. Skye will be done with her shots in less than two months! By my calculations, the last of the shots will run out at the end of March. How awesome is that? You can find all the details here — Aim At Melanoma. Please join us as we take aim at melanoma!

How It Began | Skye's Journey

In January, Skye visited her dermatologist, Dr. Lucy Wisdom, to have a suspicious mole on the left side of her rib cage examined. Dr. Wisdom removed the mole that same day and had it tested. The test results indicated that it was melanoma. The most serious form of skin cancer. Dr. Wisdom referred Skye to Dr. Laura Randolph, plastic surgeon, and Dr. David Naour (pronounced NOW-er), general surgeon, as well as oncologist. To determine if the melanoma had metastasized (spread) to the nearby lymph nodes.

Okay, please tell me spring is right around the corner. Please? Didn’t think so. The groundhog saw his shadow (doesn’t he always see his shadow? So we’re stuck with another 6 weeks of this hooey. Same #%&@, different year. Okay, I’m done. FYI: as you may have seen on Skye’s Twitter feed on this page, the “Miles for Melanoma” Walk to benefit Aim at Melanoma. Is tentatively scheduled for May 1st (possibly May 8th) in Normal, IL. Skye will be this year’s honored survivor! Feed for this Entry. You are commen...
