Friday, August 27, 2010. I know I haven't posted pictures for a while. Here's a few to tide you over. On the way to Grandma Jan's aka Green Grandma. Little did we know how sick this little guy was. Hand foot mouth. Need I say more? Family pictures were taken. I looked sleep-deprived and exhausted. Same thing? No Often go together though! But Maggie and Andrew looked cute. So did Alison, but she was too busy running around with Erica. AND it was a million degrees outside. First good smile caught on camera!

I have a ton of holes in my musical knowledge. I have started filling one of them: Buddy Rich. I remember his appearances on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, but I never really listened to him since then. Live in The Hague in 1976. This is a Count Basie standard on which Buddy's band does a nice job. Seinfeld and the Buddy Rich Tapes.

Seriously. The UN says so. In honor of this auspicious occasion, I decided to post something for the first time in ages. First of all, the International Jazz Day site has videos of some concerts. Featuring Herbie Hancock. Herbie doesn't come out until about 22:00 in the first video, but it is worth a listen.

I have some awesome friends here (well, most of them are leaving - boooooo) but they know how to decorate and throw a party. We hosted a little brunch for a bunch of the ladies in my ward who have husband's who were deployed on Valentine's Day. It was a lot of fun and everyone seemed to have a great time. My mandy friend asked about the crowns we all have on it the photo from christmas dinner. so, none of us really knew what the tradition is except that you always have christmas crackers at christmas time with a paper crown in it and a joke and a wee little gift that usually gets thrown away. its fun and just the tradition! We arrived in belfast monday night in time for dinner. it was a nice and uneventful trip over! Tuesday karen, luke and zach came over for lunch. here's jonah and zach together! In the afternoon we went into belfast to do some shopping. it was nice with all the christmas lights and we checked out the new victoria square. very nice indeed! Wednesday we had lunch with paul,erin, rose and aiden mullan. Aiden and jonah, (daddy's cousins' son) and only a day apart. Jonah's new crib toy:. Becky and her twins.

As usual its been awhile since i've written! Micah and sarah enjoying their first morning together watching cartoons! The cottage had a wonderful open fire place, so every morning and every evening we enjoyed a nice roaring fire! Monday afternoon we went into Barmouth (picture to the left) which was 7 miles south on the coast. Tuesday we stayed in all day and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, watched pride and prejudice, read books and what not! So i didn't eat a huge amount! We had a nice meal that night...
