Friday, August 10, 2012. Today’s hike is up to Summerland. It is 8.4 miles round trip with 1500’ of elevation gain. I am currently at the top chillin for a bit and enjoying the view. Darcy's answer was of course, "So I can get better times and maybe, someday, qualify for Hawaii." My Dad would shake his head and then ask her, "Are you enjoying it or just flogging yourself? Its just a half marathon. I tried to both stay in the present but to allow my mind to escape while my body kept running. The app I use to turn miles into charitable donations). What a way to the pass the time. Running for a long time, dedicating hours to yourself, pushing your body but realizing that it's all within reach. With running, it balances out. The first milestones are the hardest when someone is gone… I’ll be remembering her very fondly today, and will buy some flowers in her honour. Needless to say, my workouts have been mostly indoors these days – some free weights and playing around with a suspension trainer i picked up – Fun! Have been using it over a door, but I really need to find a solid place to hook it up on a more permanent basis. I’m also having fun with the XBox Dance Central games – phew!
