Marlene's Musings...: October 2009
http://im-marlene.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Training, Triathlon, and other Tidbits. Saturday, October 10, 2009. Bassman Sprint Triathlon October 4, 2009. The last triathlon of the 2009 season! SWIM: 0.35 miles 13:39. BIKE: 14 miles, 38:37, 18.6 mph. The bike course was nearly pancake flat. A majority of the course, I leapfrogged with a gentleman in his 50s, named John, from New Jersey. We good naturedly cheered one another on, with a bit of a competitive edge to motivate one another. RUN: 3.1 miles 29:58, 9:40 pace. After all that IS their job!

Training, Triathlon, and other Tidbits. Friday, June 19, 2009. The Cyclists on Roads Debate. Do cyclists belong on roads? A couple of weeks ago, about 700 cyclists were participating in the Multiple Sclerois Charity Bike Ride in Loudoun County, about an hour west of Washington DC. A handful of them were ticketed for running through stop signs. This sparked a debate in the local news media. Needless to say, I was relieved when I did not see him again. Monday, June 01, 2009. It's the Black Bear Triathlon.

I’ve been meaning to take a look at Brunswick Pond near Brunswick, Maryland. It’s listed among the ponds stocked by the Maryland DNR. It’s fairly small and I could see the place getting crowded. But it still might be something worth trying for practice purposes. Click here to cancel reply. I thought this was an interesting piece related to urban farming. First, it’s nice to see such in-depth information sharing around enterprises like urban microgreen operations. I’ve seen a number of videos going through almost all aspects of their operation. You simply don’t see that in other business areas. Click here to cancel reply.
