Cheapzy Peazy: February 2008

http://chroniclesofcheapness.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html

Being cheap is easy. Saturday, February 16, 2008. And so it begins. Welcome to my blog! This is where you can follow my attempts to live the good life while working 20 hours a week. And sometimes less. I hope you can pick up some ideas how you too can channel the power of cheapness. To start things off, here's a summary of my cheap-tivities for today:. Instead of buying The Social Contract. Which I needed for school, I read them for free on the floor in Barnes and Noble. Katie P. B. Katie P. B.

Cheapzy Peazy: DIY Washing Machine

http://chroniclesofcheapness.blogspot.com/2010/02/diy-washing-machine.html

Being cheap is easy. Wednesday, February 24, 2010. Our landlord has recently threatened that if the washing machine breaks, she is going to take as long as legally allowed to install the new one. This has got me thinking about how I would wash my clothes without a washing machine. There's always the sink method, the slosh in the bathtub method, or the stirring around in a bucket option, but I decided to check out the web to see what other ideas were out there. Mr Maxwell's got some beauties:. Of course, ...

Cheapzy Peazy: March 2008

Being cheap is easy. Wednesday, March 26, 2008. The one exception to my general quest for cheapness is my love for cabs. Taking a cab can be like an angel coming down from heaven and saving you from the jaws of a crocodile before you're about to go into the death spin. Oryou can just take a cab. If $10 can prevent this kind of pscyhological derangement and emotional scarring, I say that's a value buy. Katie P. B. Friday, March 7, 2008. Red Velvet is Basically Chocolate Cake (? Katie P. Cheapzy Peazy: Foraging Lessons

http://chroniclesofcheapness.blogspot.com/2010/03/foraging-lessons.html

Being cheap is easy. Monday, March 1, 2010. This weekend I dragged Dan with me to a wild food foraging class. We learned how to identify a lot of edible plants: lambsquarters (my favorite), sow thistle, wild currant (for jam), wild mustard, wild radish, and more! We got stung by the stinging nettles and then learned how to cure the sting with curly dock. Then, we had some nettle soup and made some scrambled eggs with our wild foods. (The eggs were from the store.). Katie P. B. Katie P. B.

Twenty years after our inception, on August 12, 2015, Chronicles of Chaos has ceased publication. Cheapzy Peazy

Being cheap is easy. Friday, March 26, 2010. I recently made my own laundry detergent. It was really easy! Essentially, all you need is a bar of soap, washing soda, and borax. You heat up some water (kept below a boil) and shave a bar of soap into it with a butter knife. Stir until the hot water dissolves the soap. Then you add a little washing soda, a little borax, and leave over night. Come back in the morning, and you've got a whole bunch of detergent. Hours of arm-numbing stirring? If you ask me, mak...
