St Anne's Lutheran Church. Lutheran Church in Great Britain. At various dates throughout the year, St. Anne’s hosts Bach Vespers, an evening Lutheran service featuring cantatas by Johann Sebastian Bach. The City Bach Collective;a dedicated group of professional musicans, perform the works of the great composer within the context for which they were intended. Performing Bach’s church music within a service of Lutheran Vespers gives the experience of the music a very special context. You must be logged in.

Bach Cantatas in 2017. It has been a year since I helped establish the City Bach Collective. To continue the liturgical performance of JS Bach cantatas in London. This year I have been involved in two cantatas, in January and February, BWV 72 and 22. Last night’s,. Jesus nahm zu sich die zwölfe. It’s been great fun to start the year involved in a revival of Jonathan Miller’s now-iconic production of Verdi’s Rigoletto. I am singing extra chorus and, in this show, I have been tasked with working the bar (!

The Marriage of Figaro, Grimeborn. A year on from a successful run of performances of La boheme. At the Grimeborn opera festival in Dalston, North London, I am returning with the same company (Opera 24 and Darker Purpose Theatre) for a similar week of Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro. Sonoro is a pro choir convened by Neil ferris and his assistant Michael Higgins. So far I have sung Bach, Vivaldi, Debussy, Hahn, Saint-Saens and recorded music by a new composer for Baerenreiter. I am singing De profundis clamavi and Mein herz ist bereit by Nicolaus Bruhns and Salve coelestis pater and O Jesu dulcissime by Franz Tunder. There will be other music by Buxtehude. St John Passion, St. Paul’s Cathedral. Photo: St. Paul’s Twitter. Just under a week ago I took part in a performance of J.S. Bach’s St. John Passion at St. Paul’s Cathedral. As befits a building of this scale, the enlarged Cathedral choir were joined by the Cathedral’s Chorus for the choruses.
