The trip was breathtaking throughout as all our pictures show. We were supported by the masai tribe and they kept us safe during the walks and through the nights (Especially when the hyenas came looking for food! We had a large support crew from Gane and Marshall who dismantled our camps every day and rebuilt them in stunning new locations every day with military precision. It was an honour to walk through Tanzania with Joe, Hard times? There were plenty. Good times? We united as a group and came away wi...

Day 1: Off to Brecon! Back to camp and the welcome of a warm fire and a lovely Chili and time to reflect on the day with a few party games to keep spirits high. The Ridge: We won t forget this I thought to myself as we were blown in all directions across the ridge line on our way to the filter house. This was building resilience! And we took a casual walk up towards the base of the prize. Staff and pupils chatted and wondered what lay before them. Web Design: Jeremy Smith.

The challenge lived up to it name with temperatures down to -15 degrees at times during the expedition. The whole party was incredible. We worked incredibly well as a team and managed to summit Pen Y Fan in extreme cold conditions. All the pupils were brilliant during the trip. They were mentored by some very good staff who made sure they were always warm and comfortable. We had blisters, icicles and heroic saves mixed with some great humour and spirit. Scott W's Challenge Diary. We began our challenge b...

Six intrepid students and their mentors from Coln House summited Snowdon today on the 2013 Snowdonia Challenge. We used this challenge to develop pupils character and introduce them to the concept that we face challenges all the time however, with some grit and determination we can overcome most problems. Students demonstrated that they have that ability today and helped each other up the mountain. An amazing achievement from all students as they faced 65mph winds, snow, sleet and the famous pyg track.
