May 5, 2015. The Shrimp Hits the Fan. Food Allergies. Another one of my nemesis. One 10 year old kid is allergic to shrimp and so the other 29 kids go without. Gabe has a field trip to a ballet this week. His teacher thought it would be fun for the kids to dress up and have a "fancy snack" party afterward. This sounds easy enough until the rules come into play. I sign up for a savory snack. I'm thinking little fancy sandwiches or something dainty and displayed fancy. All because the shrimp hit the fan.

Jun 3, 2014. Dust Bunnies on my Blog. Oh look here, I have a blog, and it is covered in dust. My house is covered in dust too, and so is my car and most of my shoes. Baseball season means I do not regularly: cook, dust, blog, brush my teeth, get to bed before midnight, vacuum, do any dishes that can't be put in the dishwasher or put away that stack of papers that have been sitting n the floor in the office for 6 weeks now. Bills get paid.as long as my phone is charged and I can pay them on my phone.

May 9, 2014. What Makes your Heart Stop? Today in the car G told me he gets a funny feeling, like his heart stops and tells him he needs to talk to old people. I was quiet, allowing him the opportunity to explain himself without me probing. He went on to say when he sees and old person he feels like he should go talk to them because they might be lonely and probably want to talk to him. The sweetness of that little guy amazes me sometimes. How much will it impact someone when we take a moment to care?
