Connecting Hemispheres – Connecting Hemispheres

Finding my place in the world. February 18, 2014. February 19, 2014. The world is small; technology and transportation are to thank for that. That doesn’t mean the world is connected though. When I tell people I’m Canadian I feel like I’m lying. I’m more Torontonian than anything else. If I can’t relate to those in my country, how can I understand how those around the world feel? For now. Mark Eskandar. And it starts to feel real. So Mark, what are you doing in Ghana? Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Adventures in Tamale – Part 2 – Connecting Hemispheres
https://connectinghemispheres.wordpress.com/2014/05/31/adventures-in-tamale-part-2
Finding my place in the world. Adventures in Tamale – Part 2. May 31, 2014. May 31, 2014. Music and dancing happens all the time. I noticed that many of the women were wearing beautiful dresses and hair covering hats made of the same design. We asked the mango lady beside us and she said it was a wedding celebration! She yelled over to the other side of the street and our mango lady skipped over while still moving her hips and head to the tune. Adventures in Tamale – Part 3. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Finding my place in the world. And it starts to feel real. February 18, 2014. February 19, 2014. Yesterday I got the news that my Junior Fellow placement would be in Ghana with the Agricultural Extension and Advisory Services venture. It was emotional hearing the news for several reasons. Once I got over the initial reaction of not getting my first choice placement I felt a sense of inner relaxation. This was a major step in my ongoing adventure. 8220;So where are you going? For now. Mark Eskandar.

A lot of stories. August 7, 2013. I fell into a hole the other night. It was quite the ordeal. I was walking with my host sister, Saluwa, on an evening errand to buy some phone credit. We were crossing a busy-ish street, and were hastening across to the other side. As we got closer, we started walking we’d made it. And then I was on my back at the bottom of somewhere dark and cement-y. It felt dark and deep and damp, and my first instinct was to get myself out who knew what was down there? And it took a ...

A lot of stories. In case I say…. November 17, 2013. 8220;It just feels super unfair. But then again, I’ve had a pretty fair life.”. Not exactly positive notes to end my journey on, but spirits were still relatively high and reflective. That all changed when we missed our flights home two days later because we couldn’t get our passports back in time, but I digress. The end of August saw me through some bureaucracy and, in my privileged definition of the word,. I have informed myself of the date and time!

Finding my place in the world. June 16, 2014. June 16, 2014. After some level heads took a more neutral stance and the meeting started to progress, the honourable volunteered to help set up the community entry and involvement. A few days after the initial committee meeting the honourable aided me in getting in contact with the local AEA (agric extension agent) for the proposed communities. The process was slow and bureaucratic and my patience was getting tested. I can’t do this on my own! May 31, 2014.

MEET ME AT THE CONNECTING. All the big money runs took place at the Connecting, as we called it. All the real street racers knew this and so did the cops. In addition to holding the record for most street drag races in one night, the Connecting Highway also held the record for the place where the most tickets in any one night were given out and also the record for most arrests of street racers in any one place. The "pits" were the two elevated service roads that flank each side of the highway itself....
