Where’s your stash? | craftyblogging
https://craftyblogging.wordpress.com/2011/12/30/wheres-your-stash
For everyone who wants that extra day… scroll across the dates to read more. What’s Happening and Where. Work on the go. Where’s your stash? Each time I go anywhere near a shop that sells fabric, something takes a hold and I leave, guilt ridden with another metre of fabric that “I know I’ll find a use for at sometime”. So I have a stash, in a drawer and in the loft in bags. But there’s always room for more! This entry was published on December 30, 2011 at 8:51 pm and is filed under Uncategorized.

For everyone who wants that extra day… scroll across the dates to read more. What’s Happening and Where. Work on the go. From generation to generation. She spent many, many hours totally engrossed and produced picture after picture. She sadly succumbed to the big ‘C’, but declined chemo and lived longer than expected, due in part to her love of art. (and due to a fabulous husband who came into his own when it mattered most). So here is just the tip of a very large iceberg… there will be more to come.

cwsg: Seriously addictive
http://frances-at-cwsg.blogspot.com/2012/07/seriously-addictive.html
Friday, 20 July 2012. My Summer sew project. Is turning out to be such fun and all in a good cause. Seven dresses have now been despatched to Louise. From Dress A Girl Around the World. I keep thinking I'm nearing the end of my stash of appropriate fabric but then I see some in a charity shop which would work.I have even cut up a few of the clothes in my wardrobe. Well, it's all in a good cause! My goal is 10 dresses (for now) and then I must revert to all the other ideas stacking up! Had such fun making...

Friday, 29 June 2012. Over the last few days, my sewing machine has been silent, I've been feeling listless, after a flurry of deadlines and frantic activity suddenly I had no projects on the go and nothing was inspiring me. I was trying to hide it but days were passing and nothing was getting done. Dress a Girl Around the World. When you realise that everything has been leading up to something and suddenly now is the time? We try so hard to be green in our house but the girls and I are as guilty as most...

Monday, 28 May 2012. Notes from my garden. To use a phrase I first heard from the lips of Saint Jamie Oliver, I'm really into herbage, and really quite dedicated to making useful things incorporating the power of plants. Week, where we were being regaled by weird and very wonderful garden designs has just finished. Summer is here and all my recent efforts are bursting forth. I thought it was time to take you on a quick tour of my garden and check out how my powerful plants are coming along. For the Medit...
cwsg: It's over and I really mean it this time
http://frances-at-cwsg.blogspot.com/2012/06/its-over-and-i-really-mean-it-this-time.html
Thursday, 14 June 2012. It's over and I really mean it this time. It's the right thing to do, I mean, isn't it? There's nothing else I can realistically make from the stuff to the left of the pic, is there? Just don't ask how long it has taken me to come to this decision or how much I have draaaaagged out this final item, made from a. Charity shop pair of jeans. Nearly two months ago. I tried to be experimental with the stitching, some was ok, some not as you can see from these pics. Becky has asked for ...
cwsg: April 2012
http://frances-at-cwsg.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, 26 April 2012. I do believe I have succeeded in weaning myself away from the embroidered moths by finding a way to use denim for my next project. I loathe waste, I adore upcycling and I relish a challenge. I also seem to return again and again to denim as a sturdy, forgiving, adaptable and plentiful textile. Without having any precise idea of what exactly I'm going to do with them, I nonetheless decided to look out for a few features:. Decent condition - no holes or fraying. After all there are...

Wednesday, 14 March 2012. Shut-eye - at last. Another first version of a design finished and guess what - another great. Is there a pattern emerging here? Or was it as a result of the quite amazing. Yoga session I had. Hmmmm this one may. Need a revisit at some point. I'll try stem stitch for the eyelashes next time and play around with the spacing of the features. I really love the padded eyelids though! Now on to something really quite different. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Notes from my garden.

cwsg: A herby heart
http://frances-at-cwsg.blogspot.com/2012/05/herby-heart.html
Thursday, 3 May 2012. Had such fun making this yesterday afternoon. Sure, I could have left it plain but when I start to sew sometimes I find it hard to stop. This herby heart is the second project made from one pair of jeans. There's something about a heart shape which (I'll admit right now) I'm a complete sucker for, but I was nevertheless determined to stay away soppy stitched messages or schmalzy pink, ribbons or lace so I stayed well away from pastels when it came to the embroidery thread. 160; The ...
cwsg: Whooosh and they are off
http://frances-at-cwsg.blogspot.com/2012/07/whooosh-and-they-are-off.html
Tuesday, 31 July 2012. Whooosh and they are off. I've been putting it off, hoping it will go away and generally avoiding the issue but it just has to be done - I really must just stop Dressing A Girl Around the World. I started this project just over a month ago and I honestly believe I could actually go on and on. Upcycling odds and ends of fabric and bigger dresses can be awkward and frustrating but, turns out, overcoming the various challenges is all part of the fun. As is always the way with upcycling.
cwsg: Celebrating success
http://frances-at-cwsg.blogspot.com/2012/07/celebrating-success.html
Monday, 9 July 2012. It's only now, four months later that I can celebrate all the hard work we did last March in our front garden. In time I realised my additions had the potential to become the real stars of the show but the shrubs were ragged and overgrown and still quite dominant in the space due to their size. The trouble was, taking them out was going to be a nightmare job. Thanks to the lovely sunny weather back in March (remember that? I did start and what I start I always (. Its the right thing ...
