The national Diesel Multiple Unit fleet is fully utilised, whilst many existing trains do not meet passengers’ aspirations. Network-wide electrification can be the solution in the long term, but will take time and more capacity and better comfort are needed now. The answer to this problem is Vivarail’s D-train. Class 230 fire report – final. February 2, 2017. VR-QA-17-001 – Class 230 Full Fire Report and Action Plan. Test run incident today. December 30, 2016. Whilst undertaking a test run today a fire started in one of the detachable engine modules on one of the power cars. There were no passengers on the train and Vivarail staff were able to get off without a problem. The fire has been extinguished by the Fire Service and the train is being moved back to Tyseley. 230001 at Leamington Spa. November 30, 2016.
