Project: Traveler's Previous Flights
http://www.projecttraveler.org/previous-flights
We've been flying our own gear since 2001, and have a fair amount of experience with both Helium and Hydrogen. There are no articles in this category. If subcategories display on this page, they may contain articles. After a whopping three launches under our belt, flight #4 had about 1/3 of a grade school watching our every move. We were able to provide tracking to the students in the classroom, including live ATV footage. Later in 2002, our first GPSL launch was attended near Manhattan. In 2005, we test...

Project: Traveler - About
http://www.projecttraveler.org/about
Paul Verhage, KD4STH of NearSys. Originally passed the bug on to me (Zack Clobes, W0ZC) on a quiet weekend in June of 1999. Paul was in town performing a series of flights for the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center, and several members from the local ham radio club ( RCKARA. Attended the event. I was fortunate enough to ride along in one of the chase vehicles, and that's where I got bitten. This board has gone through several iterations over the years, but has been a staple on almost every flight we've ...

ArduinoTrack - Flight Controller
http://www.projecttraveler.org/arduinotrack-controller
The ArduinoTrack Flight Controller is a stand-alone APRS beaconing system, designed for high altitude ballooning in near-space. The complete system with a lithium-polymer battery capable of operating for over 8 hours, an antenna, and a 3D printed carrier board weighs in at about 250 grams. Project: Traveler has been developing, flying, and refining the board since 2010 and it is now considered stable. The firmware is comprised of three separate Arduino sketches, only one or two of which are required for ...

The embedded map below shows the current position of the W0ZC-11 and W0ZC-12 balloon beacons. Watch the Launch Updates for live updates regarding the launch/flight situation. Click to see the map full-screen. Note, if the map is showing somewhere in Finland, then it probably means that the balloon isn't high enough in the air to be heard by IGates. Keep watching.
