London to Paris 2010. Tuesday, 27 July 2010. The ride itself now over, I had Sunday relatively free. Got up about 8.30 am (luxury! Navigated our way to a suitable spot on the Champs Elysees to watch the finish of the Tour de France. This was at about 11.30 am and it was already crowded, but food and drink was near at hand in the shape of a bistro and burger bar right behind us. A slight altercation ensued, but we held our position. Anyway, the Brits won (as we usually do against the French - hee, hee)!

London to Paris 2010. Sunday, 25 July 2010. Compared to the previous day's epic, this was a doddle. Pretty flat, VERY misty and murky to start with, but in travelling terms dead easy - until we got into Paris. This of course was punctuated by red lights and traffic; however, the French are more forgiving of cyclists generally than the Brits. I stayed near the back of the peloton and kept out of trouble. London to Paris 2010. Tuesday, 20 July 2010. Arrived at Holiday Inn at about 4pm with the minimum of trouble. This lot do seem very well organised, I must say. Welcoming committee, room to leave your bike, comprehensive instructions - all very reassuring. Off to the Monkey Puzzle restaurant down the road later.
