Saturday, May 28, 2005. The Stage, the Winner. And yes, it's heresy, but Phil Liggett sounds like he's mailing it in. Maybe he's prejudiced against Italians.]. Anyway, the grand tours offer plenty of drama, stages where in retrospect you can look and see the pivotal moves. But it's pretty rare for it all to be unfolding in the manner of Saturday's penultimate Giro stage: where everyone - riders, coaches, announcers, tifosi. Would Savoldelli try to follow, or stick to his pace? There has to be some good c...

Thursday, July 29, 2004. After three days away and a tour post-mortem blackout, I returned back to the office this morning. In the process of dumping a recycling pile, I spied a headline from Velo News a month back or so concerning the Dauphine Libere: "Warning Shot! Shoulda replaced "warning" with "wad." I'm looking forward to catching up on the recriminations from Euskaltel, Liberty Seguros, and a few others. Posted by Chris @ 11:26 AM. Saturday, July 24, 2004. Posted by Chris @ 11:42 AM. Thursday, June 30, 2005. TdF Preview: Germans, Pseudo-Germans, Danes and Yanks. The nordic influence on the Tour is growing more noticeable every year. Historically the Swiss have been around - check out the Ferdi Kubler stencil on the side of the Phonak bus, right? Anyway, Team CSC. Oy, the pressure. OK, T-Mobile. One thing we know about these guys is that they are single-mindedly focusing on the GC. Jettisoned is the distraction of Erik Zabel and his record 32 consecutive Green Jersey titles spanni...

Thursday, March 31, 2005. Cycling world is abuzz over Lance's mention to Le Figaro that they'd better show up at his Tour de Georgia press conference - which everyone took to mean he would announce some sort of retirement. Today, though, comes the story over at VeloNews.com. So is Lance planning to ride the Giro? Posted by Chris @ 3:08 PM. Bringing Home the Bread. Great start for the Post. uh, Discovery boys. Is Johan Bruyneel turning into the Belichick of DS's? Posted by Chris @ 10:09 AM. Despite the ye...

Thursday, September 09, 2004. The Vuelta is heating up, but unless you feel like sitting by a computer and listening to the live feed every morning, it won't be worth much more than a good read in the January edition of Cylce Sport. Still, it's nice to know the battle is joined. So Floyd or Tyler? Posted by Chris @ 11:22 PM. Jambango: Cycling Blog Community. Gregg's Cycles/Aurora Cycles (my shop).

Sunday, January 04, 2004. The US tag is for posts which are about our own exploits, as opposed to pro stuff. This blog is semi-private, so why not? I'm sure there is great riding near Seattle, although the ornery redneck factor should not be underestimated. Still, even if my road career doesn't get far, there is always track. Think about it: no hills, all mashing. it's perfect for me! Of course, it means I need another bike. Posted by Chris @ 10:17 PM. Jambango: Cycling Blog Community.

Tuesday, March 30, 2004. My first race of the year is a technical crit. Run by my new team. Hm, well, it's a flat 45-minute crit, so what's the worst that can happen? Posted by Chris @ 4:15 PM. Yankees are now in last place in all of baseball. And I have OLN, at long last. When is the Ronde von (shut up) Vlaanderen on this weekend? Do they repeat the classics broadcasts, for those of us who are nine hours behind? Posted by Chris @ 11:04 AM. Monday, March 29, 2004. How's Van Petegem's form? What was the m...
