Deborah Lawrenson: July 2015

http://deborah-lawrenson.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html

Provence, the Luberon and an old house on a hill. Tuesday, 28 July 2015. After sweltering heat, a cool breeze is playing and the days are rolling by. I will try to write something more interesting soon, I promise, but for now I have been pottering around the garden. This pot of very fragrant lavender from Roussillon is perfect on the table under the olive tree in the courtyard. One day, I fantasize, I will have a garden beyond as luxuriant as this one at the Chateau La Verrerie at Puget-sur-Durance.

Deborah Lawrenson: Château la Verrerie – wine and art

http://deborah-lawrenson.blogspot.com/2015/08/chateau-la-verrerie-wine-and-art.html

Provence, the Luberon and an old house on a hill. Sunday, 2 August 2015. Château la Verrerie – wine and art. The pale peachy rosé wine from the Château la Verrerie at Puget-sur-Durance has been a summer favourite. I first saw Olivier Boissinot's vibrant paintings of the calanques while trawling the internet looking for an illustration for an excerpt from. When I found his website, I found he had captured exactly what had been in my head when I wrote - the searing brightness of the sea against the grey cl...

Provence, the Luberon and an old house on a hill. Friday, 26 September 2014. By 1943, the life expectancy of a wireless operator working for the French resistance and the British agents on the ground in Nazi-occupied France was down to six weeks. Sending and receiving vital messages between the sharp end and London to organize secret drops of agents and weapons, and provide the link between sabotage operations, was dangerous work.". Provence, the Luberon and an old house on a hill. Wednesday, 20 May 2015. A heavy box arrives.this is always a lovely moment, one of the iconic moments, I suppose, of an author's life. Deborah Lawrenson: Catching up

http://deborah-lawrenson.blogspot.com/2015/03/catching-up.html

Provence, the Luberon and an old house on a hill. Sunday, 15 March 2015. For the most part, my excuses are sound. I had a first draft of a novel to deliver by the start of February, and I managed to do that. I had a few weeks' grace, when I thought I deserved some time out, away from anything connected to writing. I saw friends I had neglected while I was immersed in my book and my mother's final months. Those red-striped pants have drooped rather off-puttingly since their first outing in. As few years a...

PARFUM DE LAVANDE: SPRING

http://parfumsdelavande.blogspot.com/2011/03/today-i-started-one-week-course-in.html

Lundi 7 mars 2011. Today I started a one week course in olive tree growing. We started nicely by having a walk above Nyons, in a lovely olive grove. The weather was nice and we had a good guide with us. And of course this was the day my hay feaver decided that the spring is here. More of the olive tree and the olives when I have found some antihistamine tablets. Plus sur les oliviers dès que j'ai trouvé des comprimés contre le rhume des foins. Hope your nose isnt running too much! 8 mars 2011 à 09:47.

A ravenous reader blogs on all things bookish. TLC Book Tours: The Baker’s Daughter. Really Into Real Estate. Never in a million years would I have imagined that within the space of 10 months I would be embroiled in selling two houses and buying another. Aren’t I the girl that just longs to lie around in the backyard with her nose buried in books? Does it even matter to me where that backyard is as long as it’s quiet and no one bothers me while I’m reading? Isn’t reading the thing that interests me most?
